Rainy days at The Woods have a charm of their own. The trees are a little greener, Senior Lake is a little quieter, and our feathered friends are making sure there's still plenty of conversation. 🦆🌧️

“Once I grew out of the ‘I want to be a princess’ thing, it was vet school all the way.” 🐴

For Brynna Buetke, it really was.

During her time at William Woods, Brynna turned a childhood dream into hands-on experience: drawing blood, conducting lameness exams, working in the barns, and learning alongside Dr. Paul Schiltz.

We caught up with Brynna during her senior year as she prepared for her next step. Fast forward to today, and she’s officially a veterinary student at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.

That’s what Pre-Vet at The Woods is built for. Our students get the experience, mentorship, and preparation to take what they learn here into veterinary school and beyond.

And Brynna isn’t alone. William Woods’ Pre-Vet concentration has an average 67% first-time veterinary school acceptance rate.

The dream was vet school. The Woods helped her get there. 💚
