🎭 Day 4 Recap | Every Story Has the Power to Move the World 🌍🎶

Today, our scholars experienced the power of creative storytelling at the Alliance Theatre, discovering that some of the most meaningful stories are told not only through words, but through music, movement, sound, and imagination.

Inspired by the world-renowned Basura, scholars collaborated to create their own recycled orchestra, transforming everyday materials into instruments and proving that innovation often begins by seeing possibility where others see waste. Through creativity, collaboration, and performance, they explored how storytelling can inspire, connect, and spark change.

The day concluded with an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the technical rehearsal for the Palefsky Collision Project, where scholars witnessed firsthand the artistry, precision, and teamwork that bring a professional production to life. From lighting and sound to stage management and performance, they gained a deeper appreciation for the many creative careers that exist beyond the spotlight.

At MCNA, we believe that every scholar has a story worth telling—and when creativity meets innovation, those stories have the power to transform communities and shape the future.

Day 3 Recap | Designing Thriving Communities 🏙️🛠️

Today, our scholars stepped into the role of engineers, architects, and changemakers at ! Starting with a vision, they worked through the full engineering design process—brainstorming, planning, prototyping, testing, refining, and constructing 3D models of thriving communities designed to improve the lives of those who live there.

Every sketch, measurement, discussion, and model reflected critical thinking, collaboration, creativity, and perseverance. More than building structures, our scholars were designing solutions for a better future.

At MCNA, we believe innovation happens when young people are empowered to ask bold questions, think deeply, and create fearlessly.

From ideas to impact, our future innovators are just getting started. 🚀

✨ Day 2 Recap | Creating the Future at KSU + SCAD ✨

Today our scholars stepped into worlds where imagination meets innovation.

From exploring Kennesaw State University’s cutting-edge Makerspaces to experiencing SCAD Atlanta’s approach to creative storytelling through fashion, animation, and design, our scholars discovered that the future belongs to those who can both create and solve.

They didn’t just tour campuses—they asked thoughtful questions, captured ideas, envisioned possibilities, and saw firsthand how engineering, technology, art, and storytelling come together to shape industries and change communities.

Every experience reinforced a core belief at MCNA: innovation happens at the intersection of creativity and technology.

This is what the MCNA Summer STEAM Experience is all about—expanding minds, exposing scholars to new possibilities, and inspiring them to become the next generation of creators, innovators, and global leaders.

🚀 DAY 1 COMPLETE! What a phenomenal start to the 2026 MCNA Summer STEAM Experience!

Today, our scholars stepped into the worlds of neuroscience, artificial intelligence, digital media, and creative innovation through immersive experiences at the Georgia State University Neuroscience Center and the GSU Creative Media Industries Institute.

🧠 They explored the human brain through hands-on investigations.
🎬 They experienced professional film and media production environments.
🎹 They experimented with music technology and digital creativity.
💡 Most importantly, they asked bold questions, collaborated with peers, and began thinking like the innovators and changemakers our world needs.

This is what happens when curiosity meets opportunity.

Every conversation, every question, and every idea helps shape the future of MCNA because we believe the strongest schools reflect the voices, hopes, and aspirations of the communities they serve.

Our Community Co-Design process is more than a meeting—it’s a commitment. From neighborhood conversations and listening sessions to planning meetings and collaborative workshops, we’re ensuring that our school is rooted in the needs, strengths, and dreams of South Fulton Families.

And we’re just getting started! You won’t just hear about us—you’ll see us.
