🧠🫁 Support for emotional regulation & clarity 👩🏼‍🏫 Clinical Intern |📚 Expert Math Tutor |🌿 Clean Living

02/10/2026

If your child has ADHD and your home feels stuck in a cycle of meltdowns, power struggles, or constant reminders… you are not alone. 🤍

I work with parents who are raising kids with ADHD, big emotions, and nervous system overwhelm. While children may be the ones showing the behaviors, regulation always starts with the adults around them. When parents feel calmer, more confident, and more supported, children’s nervous systems can begin to settle too.

My approach is trauma-informed, nervous-system focused, and practical for real life. I’m fully trained in EMDR through Compassion Works, and I integrate CBT, DBT skills, and somatic tools to help parents build emotional regulation, co-regulation skills, and more effective ways to respond during tough moments.

I support parents navigating:
• ADHD and attention challenges at home
• Emotional outbursts and meltdowns
• Anxiety and sensory overwhelm
• Parent burnout, guilt, and stress
• Power struggles and communication breakdowns
• Big transitions that are hard on the whole family

This work isn’t about blaming parents or “fixing” kids. It’s about understanding the nervous system, learning practical tools, and creating a home environment where everyone feels more steady and connected.

Sessions are $75, and I offer parent-focused counseling and support.

You can use the contact information in the photo to reach out and schedule a free 15-minute consultation to see if we’re a good fit. If it feels right, we can move forward with scheduling. If not, I’m always happy to help connect you with referrals that better match your needs.

You don’t have to keep walking on eggshells in your own home. Change is possible, and it starts with supporting you. 💛

✨ Exciting update & a quick clarification ✨

Because there was so much interest in a single day, we’re now offering two Redefining Focus groups — one for Junior High students (Tuesdays) and one for High School students (Thursdays)!

Each 5-week group helps students with ADHD and attention challenges learn to work with their brains, not against them — through mindfulness, movement, and focus tools designed to build confidence and emotional regulation.

➡️ Groups only move forward once a minimum of 3 participants have committed.
➡️ Payment for all 5 sessions ($200 total) is due up front once confirmed.
➡️ I’ll reach out the Friday before the first week to confirm and collect payment if your group meets the minimum.

There are still a few spots left — reach out ASAP if you’d like to reserve one! 💛

Thank you for your patience with this pivot and for all the support — your interest in this group has been incredible!

✨ Weekend 1 of EMDR Training — Complete! ✨

After three full days (Fri–Sun) of intensive training, I just wrapped up Weekend 1 of 2 of EMDR training through CompassionWorks — and I’m feeling deeply grateful, stretched, and excited. 🙌

For those who aren’t familiar, EMDR stands for Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing. It’s a research-backed therapy that helps the brain reprocess painful or “stuck” memories so they no longer carry the same emotional charge. Using bilateral stimulation (eye movements, tapping, or sounds), EMDR activates both sides of the brain while revisiting memories in a safe, structured way — allowing the nervous system to do what it was designed to do: process and heal.

✨ EMDR isn’t just for PTSD.
It can help with:
• Anxiety, panic, and stress
• Grief and complicated loss
• Childhood wounds and attachment pain
• Phobias, fears, and performance blocks
• Negative core beliefs like “I’m not enough”

I love how this work lines up with what I believe about God’s design for healing — that our brains and bodies have an incredible ability to mend, just like a cut can close with proper care. My role is simply to guide and hold space as that healing unfolds.

This is only Weekend 1 of 2 — next time we’ll go deeper into EMDR for kids and teens, couples work, and more nuanced situations. I’ll also complete 10 hours of consultation with experienced EMDR clinicians as I practice with willing clients, which feels like such a rich way to grow my skills.

This weekend was a big investment of time and energy, but so worth it. I’m coming away inspired and hopeful — not just for my own growth as a therapist, but for the clients I’ll get to walk alongside in this process.

✨ Now Accepting New Clients ✨

Many of you know me from my years of math tutoring, but I’ve fully transitioned into my role as a clinical counseling intern with Redefine Life Holistic Psychotherapy. While I’m no longer offering tutoring (check with your school counselor for a current tutor list 📚), I now focus on walking alongside kids (7+), teens, and adults in their mental health journeys—in person or virtually. 💛

My heart is to help families break generational patterns and build stronger marriages and family units—because when mom and dad are well, kids thrive. 🌱 I integrate a somatic, bottom-up approach with CBT, DBT, CPT, and soon EMDR, beginning with calming the body and then layering in cognitive skills for lasting change. With kids and teens, I work closely with parents while protecting privacy, knowing that co-regulation and family commitment are key.

I’m deeply grateful for every referral and for the trust it represents. It’s an honor to support families in finding resilience, clarity, and connection. 💛

Bedtime can feel like a battle, but the truth is: kids don’t fight sleep—they fight feeling unsafe or out of control. 💡
That’s why predictable routines matter so much. They give kids a sense of security, lower stress hormones, and build muscle memory for sleep.

✨ Even older kids benefit when nights feel calm and consistent.

I’d love to hear from you: what’s one thing that makes bedtime smoother in your home? (Share below—you may help another parent out tonight!)

Not all bedtime struggles mean a diagnosis.

Ages 8–12 can be especially sensitive to sleep changes with hormones, growth, and life stress.

It’s normal for kids to have occasional nights where they take longer to settle, ask for extra comfort, or struggle after an exciting day.

This is not an exclusive list of what could cause sleep struggles — trauma, grief, and other mental health conditions (such as PTSD) can also disrupt sleep.

But when sleep challenges are persistent for extended periods, distressing, and driven by ongoing worries, fears, or rituals, it may point to something beyond “just a phase” — like OCD, separation anxiety, or generalized anxiety.

💡 Seek professional help if your child:
• Cannot fall asleep or stay asleep without performing specific rituals every night “just right”
• Has ongoing, intrusive thoughts or fears at bedtime that cause visible distress
• Shows extreme panic or physical symptoms when separated from a caregiver at night
• Avoids sleepovers or overnight trips due to fear, not preference
• Experiences sleep problems most nights for weeks/months, impacting mood, school, or relationships

🛋 What to look for in a child therapist:
• Specialization in pediatric anxiety, OCD, separation anxiety, and/or trauma/PTSD
• Training in CBT, ERP, and/or play therapy for anxiety disorders
• A collaborative, family-inclusive approach
• Experience helping kids develop healthy sleep associations and coping tools

Back-to-school bedtime battles? You’re not alone. 💤

So many parents have been asking for expert tips on helping kids wind down, fall asleep, and stay asleep — especially with the schedule shift this time of year.

As a clinical counseling intern specializing in child and family well-being, I’m putting together a much-requested Sleep Series for parents of kids ages 8–12.

We’ll cover:
✨ What causes sudden sleep issues at this age
✨ How to use connection + routine to make bedtime calmer
✨ Somatic tools to help the nervous system shift into rest
✨ Expert strategies to respond to wake-ups without starting the night over

If your evenings have been filled with “just one more” requests, restless tossing, or midnight visitors… this series is for you.

Save these posts, share them with a fellow parent, and let’s make bedtime feel less like a battle and more like a bridge to rest. 🌙

✨Sleep is one of the most powerful tools for learning and emotional regulation—especially for growing minds.

Start easing into earlier bedtimes now so the circadian rhythm has time to adjust before the school year begins.

Small shifts now = smoother transitions later. 💤📚

It’s easy to feel like you’ve failed your kids when something hard happens.
But trauma doesn’t mean you’ve messed up.

It means your child is human — and so are you.

We live in a fallen world, and trauma isn’t always the “big stuff.”

Sometimes it looks like:
• Being bullied consistently
• Witnessing a parent’s struggle with alcohol
• Moving and struggling to make new friends
• Losing a pet
• A scary medical experience or natural disaster

These “little t” traumas can still shake a child’s sense of safety and trust — even if they can’t put it into words.

If your child has been acting differently and it’s lasting longer than expected, don’t ignore your gut.

Counseling isn’t a sign of failure. It’s a sign of love.

It can be the very thing that helps your child feel safe and supported again.
