Our students are a part of this Texas Music Teachers Association program, which is the largest piano ensemble program in the United States. Our faculty member, Dr. Kelly, is the ensemble chair for the Katy Music Teachers Association and she is also directs one of the KMTA ensemble groups.

The state of Texas is home to the largest piano ensemble program in the United States. This summer, over 1100 students performed in piano ensembles at the 2026 TMTA annual conference in Houston. Most local associations had two ensemble groups performing. Some of the local associations had 3-5 groups performing.

The TMTA Ensemble Program has a long history. There are students and families that plan their entire summer schedules around TMTA piano ensembles. Each year at TMTA's annual conference, over a thousand students have the opportunity to perform in concerts held throughout the weekend on a stage with 15 grand pianos, while wearing costumes themed with their music. The TMTA Ensemble Program gives the beginner, intermediate, and advanced student pianist the unique opportunity to play with other pianists in a piano ensemble. Students participating 9 or more years are eligible for special recognition and monetary prizes. This year, TMTA awarded students prizes for participating in TMTA piano ensemble for 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, and even 16 years.

We have already started planning for 2027 TMTA pianos ensembles. We hope to see you in Dallas next summer, June 17th - 20th, 2027.
