Take the next step in advanced stage and screen combat training through challenging new weapon styles, scene work, and performance for theatre, film, and television. Build on your existing armed and unarmed skills while developing greater precision, physical awareness, storytelling, safety, and confidence in heightened dramatic action, conservatory-style training designed for performers ready to push their fight performance further.

Michael Mueller (he/him) is the Head of Acting and Stage Combat at Fullerton College. He has directed, performed, taught, and choreographed violence across the country and in the UK. Michael’s educational approach engages imagination and play while maintaining efficient and transparent communication. In the rehearsal hall or classroom, he seeks to establish and maintain supportive collaboration to ensure a safe, risk-taking environment where inquiry, inspiration, fearlessness, and humor enable character discovery and personal revelation. He holds a B.F.A. in Acting from Wright State University and a M.F.A. in Performance Pedagogy from the University of Pittsburgh.

Audition or interview required for assignment of performance and technical roles
Experience the collaborative process of creating musical theatre for live audiences. Develop your skills through rehearsal, performance, ensemble collaboration, and concert production, culminating in public and touring performances. Whether entering at the beginning or intermediate level, gain practical experience bringing musical theatre from rehearsal into performance.

Candice is an Associate Professor, performer, choreographer, director, and producer. She previously served as a faculty member at Cypress Community College, choreographer at Chapman University and El Camino College in Torrance, and Assistant Production Manager for the Department of Music, Theatre and Dance at CSULA. She mentored with Center Theatre Group’s Associate Producer Lindsay Allbaugh and worked as Assistant Producer for the 2015 Ovation Awards at The Ahamanson Theatre in Downtown Los Angeles. Candice holds a Bachelor of Arts in Theater from California State University at Fullerton and a Master of Fine Arts in TV, Film, and Theatre Production and Directing from California State University at Los Angeles.

Take your musical theatre training into the world of Pop/Rock performance. Integrate acting, voice, movement, and storytelling while exploring styles spanning the 1950s through today, including contemporary Pop/Rock, Country, Bluegrass, and Hip Hop. Strengthen your ability to make bold, authentic performance choices while developing the versatility today's musical theatre performer needs.

Discover the creative world of theatrical properties through hands-on training in prop construction, upholstery, molding and casting, research, stage food, animals, and theatrical weaponry. Learn the skills of professional prop artisans while turning imaginative ideas into physical objects built to tell stories onstage.

Zelida Solorio (she/her) holds a Bachelor of Arts in Architecture from the University of California, Berkeley and is a proud alumna of Fullerton College, where she earned her Scenic Artist Certificate in 2024. She has served as charge scenic artist and property master for multiple Fullerton College productions. In addition, her scenic design credits include Marian, or the True Tale of Robin Hood and Romeo & Juliet. Beyond academia, Zelida is a scenic artist with Stagelight Productions, McCoy Rigby Entertainment, Musical Theatre West, and Thyr Design, as well as a freelance mural artist. Her collaborative projects include work with LA Galaxy, City of Hope, Adidas, and community businesses.

Arthur L. Ross is Fullerton College Theatre Arts’ new full-time Associate Professor of Musical Theatre Performance! A director, choreographer, performer, vocalist, producer, and creative developer, Arthur brings more than two decades of professional experience spanning Broadway and national tours, regional theatre, Disneyland Resort Live Entertainment, Universal Studios Hollywood, Cirque du Soleil, and higher education. At Fullerton College, Arthur's ensemble-driven approach encourages students to build versatility, discover their individual artistic voice, and become thoughtful, disciplined, collaborative storytellers.

Learn what it takes to guide a production from the first meeting through closing night. Through the study and practical application of professional stage management practices, develop skills in leadership, communication, organization, rehearsal management, production coordination, and calling a show, essential training for anyone interested in stage management, production, directing, or theatrical leadership.

Zachary Harless has a long history as a working designer, stage and production manager, and technician for diverse professional, educational, community, and cultural events. He began his higher education at Fullerton College before receiving his BA in Theatre- Technical Design and Production from Cal Poly University, Pomona under the mentorship of the late William Morris III. While looking for a master’s program, Zach received training from a variety of well-known designers such as Jules Fisher, Peggy Eisenhauer, Abe Jacob, and Wendall Harrington. Additionally, he found himself receiving production management roles at several colleges. In pursuing management further, Zach took an opportunity and received a master’s degree in Project Management with distinction from Keller Graduate School of Management. This combination of art and business has opened many doors in the event world and has led him to work on numerous theatrical and entertainment events around southern California.

Learn costume construction by working with your hands and building for theatrical productions. Develop practical skills in sewing, costume construction, and costume craftwork while gaining real experience in the costume shop. Start with the fundamentals or continue building your abilities through beginning, intermediate, and advanced levels designed to strengthen your craftsmanship, confidence, and production experience.

Denise Barry received her MFA in theatre design from the University of So California before moving to Seattle, WA, where she designed shows, worked on wardrobe crews, worked in costume shops and joined the local Theatrical Wardrobe Union. Denise spent most of her career at the Seattle Opera costume shop where she went from dresser to stitcher to first hand to cutter/draper to lead cutter. When the pandemic hit, she moved over to the Pacific Northwest Ballet to be their lead cutter before her family decided to move back to So Cal last summer. She excited to be teaching the next generation of costume technicians and designers this art form.

Develop the skills of the complete musical theatre performer through integrated training in acting, voice, movement, and storytelling through song. Explore styles from Early Broadway, the Jazz Age, the Golden Age, and Sondheim while building confidence in solo and ensemble performance. Designed for performers ready to strengthen the connection between character, music, movement, and story.

Grant Peterson grew up in Orange County, where he began working professionally before earning a BA and MA at UCLA. He has worked across Southern California, with experience ranging from themed entertainment and regional playhouses to Los Angeles venues. He holds a PhD from Royal Holloway, University of London, and is an Honorary Senior Lecturer (Associate Professor) in Theatre at Brunel University London, where he taught for over a decade and founded the Musical Theatre degree pathway. His teaching focuses on performance, acting, history, and he directs mainstage productions.
