This Saturday (May 13th) the Sunny Hills Agriculture Department will be having a PLANT SALE from 10am - 2pm! We have a variety of flowers, vegetables, and ornamentals. Swing by the farm, on the corner of Bastanchury & Lancer Way or Bastanchury & Parks Rd!

The Sunny Hills FFA Alumni & Supporters is hosting a pig raffle with 2 winners! Each winner will win half of a student-raised hog ready by *January. The drawing will occur and contact information sent to Barstow Country Butchery in Apple Valley. All processing and cut and wrap fees are covered. Each winner is responsible for simply picking up their winnings. The buyer is also responsible for any late pickup fee if accrued from Barstow Butchery.

Congratulations to Mr. Kim! This afternoon Mr. Kim was selected as a Southern Region Teacher of Excellence! Teachers must have taught a minimum of ten years in a secondary school or community college agricultural education program, or a combination thereof; been a paid member of the California Agricultural Teachers’ Association for at least ten years; held at least one CATA sectional, regional, or state office; be a current paid member of the CATA by the fall regional meeting of the year nominated. Mr. Kim has nominated by his peers and voted in at the Southern Region CATA meeting in Palm Springs! Congratulations to him and the other 4 elected members.
Fun fact: Ms. Gheen, next to Mr. Kim, is a SHHS alum as well!

Lets give a warm Lancer welcome to our new AG teacher Ms. Cortez! Ms. Cortez teachers both periods 1 & 2 Ag Chem courses and we couldn’t be more excited to be apart of our campus. Ms. Cortez is a graduate of Buena Park HS and a great part of their FFA program. She then made her way to Chico State where she completed her final student teaching at Las Plumas High School. Ms. Cortez is excited to bring her enthusiasm and love for agriculture to Sunny Hills!
Ms. Trout is a graduate of Buena Park High School and is currently student teaching out of Chico State! We are so excited that she will be able to be a part of the Lancer family! Ms. Trout is excited to learn and be a part of an amazing FFA program!

School may have just gotten started but our Lancers continue to do amazing things…this time on a NATIONAL LEVEL! Our very own Vice President, Paloma Wizikowski, is a National Proficiency Finalist. She has been ranked as 1 of top 4 individuals in the entire nation! Not only is she a proficiency finalist she will be representing CA as an Official Delegate which only 35 in the entire state were selected! A huge congratulations to Paloma! California FFA National FFA Organization Fullerton Joint Union High School District
