I am sorry to pass along the sad news that our beloved colleague Jesse Battan passed away unexpectedly last week. Jesse was a member of our department for more than 40 years, 15 of which he generously served as department chair. There will be a memorial service on campus next month; I'll post details when I have them. If you have memories of Jesse you'd like to share, we welcome you to send them to his wife, Terri Snyder ([email protected]), who will share them with the rest of his family.
