New species of human ancestor lived alongside 'Lucy' 3.4m years ago Scientists at the Cleveland Museum of Natural History have named the new species, which was discovered in Afar, Ethiopia, as Australopithecus deyiremeda.

Welcome our new faculty member Prof. Janaki Parikh to Fullerton College's Anthropology Department.
We had another very successful tour with EF College Study Tours to the British Isles. Thank you to all of those who participated and those who supported this program. The trip was outstanding, we visited so many places, Ireland, Wales, London, Stonehenge, Bath and Scotland. :)

In the Real of the Vision Serpent: Decipherments and Discoveries in Mesoamerica, a symposium in homage to Linda Schele promises to be our largest Mesoamerican Symposium to date. This year is particularly special. In addition to our highly regarded keynote speakers we will feature several panels composed of prominent experts in the field of Mesoamerican Studies as well as several Ph.D. candidates.
