I was honored to attend the North OC Community College Breakfast yesterday. Over 100 community leaders were present to discuss new ways to collaborate with each other. It was a very successful forum!

I attended the Merchants meeting in Placentia at Tlaquepaque today with Rosalina Davis and Liam Stanton. These meetings are always informative and lively!

Today’s Fullerton College graduation ceremony was wonderful with about 1,000 students crossing the stage to receive their diplomas. It was great to share this special time with the Pillon family as their daughter Phoebe graduated with 3 degrees! She has worked hard on her studies. Lots of very happy grads on the Fullerton College campus today. Congratulations!

The ballroom at Alta Vita was full tonight for the annual Best of Placentia Gala, with many Placentia Chamber of Commerce members and friends attending. Online voting for business categories had taken place over the last 2 months. Tonight, the votes were tabulated and the winners were announced at the gala. Scores of local businesses were announced individually as winners, and they all received a framed certificate to loud cheers from attendees. Congratulations to all of them!

The Memorial Day Ceremony in Buena Park was attended by over 100 people today. It was inspiring and the singers were fabulous! The ceremony honored those who have served our country, and all vets were recognized. It was a great morning for sure.

It was a beautiful afternoon on the Cypress College campus for the scholarship awards today. Several hundred students gathered with their family and friends to receive over 100 separate-named scholarships (representing hundreds of thousands of dollars). Many scholarships are created by families who want to assist students in need. The vibe was celebratory, and everyone cheered for the scholarship recipients. The Cypress College Foundation coordinates the scholarship program, and it does a great job of managing the scholarships, raising money, and coordinating the awards ceremony. It was an afternoon of celebrations and lots of photos with very happy students!

Yesterday, Downtown Birch St. was closed off to vehicles for Taste of Brea, sponsored by the Brea Chamber of Commerce. It was very popular! Restaurants, businesses, and city staff all set up booths for attendees. The food was great, and everyone really enjoyed the event!

Over 100 people came out for the grand opening of Higher Ground in Fullerton today, located next to Orangethorpe School. They have many free after school programs for students and evening activities for teens. Many free programs are available in the summer, as well. Their staff is well-trained, and students are happy with such a great place to hang out and be with their friends.

It was wonderful to celebrate with the students who received scholarships at the Fullerton College Scholarship Ceremony on campus today. They have all worked hard and are continuing on with their studies. Many family members and friends attended to cheer them on. Thanks to faculty and staff who attended, as well. It was a ceremony filled with smiles!

I was honored to speak at the Fullerton College Scholarship event in May 2024. The student recipients were so thankful to receive much-needed funding to continue their higher education. Their personal stories were compelling, and our scholarship board worked hard to make it happen.
