It was an inspiring morning at Troy High School as the Troy Tech Seniors reconnected with their internship mentors from summer ‘26. There were approximately 400 Troy interns in the program this past summer. Several students spoke about their intern experience, making it a morning filled with good memories. The north gym was packed with mentors and the students who had the opportunity to work with them for about 6 weeks. The Troy Support Organization (TSO), established in 2007, is a group of dedicated parents who support the students in the Troy Tech Program; They sponsor the Mentor Breakfast. It was wonderful to be with them again for this special event and to learn about the expansion of educational opportunities at THS.

I am excited to be accompanying my husband Doug this year in the Placentia Parade this upcoming Saturday the 10th at 10AM on Kraemer Blvd. I look forward to seeing you all both during the parade and afterwards at Tri City Park! The Somos event is held in early October each year to raise scholarship funds for Hispanic students— most of whom are first in their family to attend a university. The entertainment at the arboretum today was upbeat, and the program focused on the support CSUF has received over the last several years from many businesses and community members. Gaddi Vasquez was the MC, and CSUF President Ron Rochon gave an inspiring message about student success. Friends, neighbors, staff, and students had a chance to watch Ballet Folklorico dancers and listen to Latin Music at the reception. The decor transformed the area near Oak Hall into a Spanish patio and became the backdrop for many photos.

Tara’s Chance in Fullerton is a therapeutic equine ranch where children and adults with disabilities can regain strength, mobility, and other skills while riding a horse. Their Riding with the Stars Gala helps to raise funds to continue this important work. The event was sold out yesterday, and the silent and live auction items received many bids. It was great to catch up with many neighbors and friends at the event! Kudos to NCL Fullerton and the scores of other volunteers who give many hours to make this event a success.

The beautifully restored cars were awesome at Placentia’s annual Car Show supporting HIS House. Many residents came to see the cars, eat, and participate in the silent auction and opportunity drawing. It was a great event, and kudos to all the volunteers who made it a success for HIS House!

It was wonderful to attend the grand opening of the historic Titan Transfer Center at Fullerton College yesterday. President Cynthia Olivo of Fullerton College and President Ron Roshon of CSUF signed the official MOU to facilitate the transfer of students from FC to CSUF. Fullerton College is the #1 feeder community college to CSUF. It was great to see the faculty and staff from both campuses cheering at the event “Tuffy Titan” and “Buzzy Hornet” were both on campus to celebrate as well.

Students prepared six salsas and two aguas frescas to taste today for the tasting event at the STEM lab on Fullerton College campus. This is the second year for the tasting event. The salsas ranged from very mild to spicy hot, and each taster voted for their favorite. The event brought out many students and faculty to experience the salsas and aguas frescas. Creative first, second, and third place prizes were awarded to those involved with Mesa and Promise programs. What a delightful event!!

A lively discussion took place today at Nadia’s home in Fullerton about NOCCCD and my campaign for trustee in Area 6! It was great to be with these super supporters who have contributed time, effort, and funds to help my campaign. I feel so blessed to have these friends supporting me. The Fullerton Boys and Girls Club held their annual gala yesterday at the Community Center, and it was a sold-out event. It featured a silent auction, live auction, entertainment, and dinner. It was great!
