Exploring letter sounds through touch and play! Our sandpaper letters help children connect sounds to symbols, while playdough strengthens the fine motor skills needed for future writing. Learning through hands-on discovery!

Today our children enjoyed pan de mu**to, a special bread shared during Día de Mu***os. One of our families brought it in to honor their great-grandmother, who loved her pan and felt this was a beautiful way to share that memory with everyone. Each child received a bite-sized piece to taste, and some shared their own stories of enjoying pan de mu**to at home. Through food, culture, and conversation, we celebrate life, memory, and community together.

Curiosity takes root! 🌱✨ The children are investigating a sprouting pine cone—observing, questioning, and sketching their discoveries. With teachers guiding their research, learning flourishes through exploration. This tiny sprout, brought in by a child's family, nurtures our connection to nature, community, and each other. 🌿💡

Exploring sustainability through creativity! 🌿📜 The children at Discovery Gardens are engaging in paper-making, discovering the importance of recycling, resourcefulness, and environmental responsibility. Hands-on experiences like these foster a deeper understanding of sustainability and the impact of our choices.

Thanks to you, two large trips were made to the donation hub, and everything was delivered to the LA Dream Center, where it will provide much-needed support and resources to those affected by the wildfires. 🌟

Turning scraps into treasure! 🌱✨ Our little gardeners are learning the magic of composting.

At our preschool, children have been enthusiastically experimenting with photography, bringing in their own cameras and exploring the world through a lens. They capture everyday moments, from nature’s beauty to their friends' expressions, allowing their creativity to flourish. This aligns with the Reggio Emilia philosophy, which emphasizes the importance of self-expression, exploration, and communication. Photography becomes a powerful tool for children to document their learning and reflect on their experiences. It fosters their ability to observe, inquire, and share their perspectives, making their learning journey visible and meaningful.

On Friday we honored our graduates, we celebrated the community we have built. The relationships formed here—between children, families, and educators—are the heart of Discovery Gardens. We have truly become a village, supporting and nurturing each other.
To mark this special occasion, the children handcrafted a keepsake for each graduate. The necklace that was placed around each graduates neck is a symbol of friendship, collaboration, and accomplishment. It represents the journey we have shared and the wonderful memories we have created together.
As our graduates move on to new adventures, we hope they carry with them the values and experiences they've gained here. May they continue to be curious, to explore the world with wonder, and to cherish the friendships they have made.
Thank you for entrusting us with your children's early education. It has been an honor and a privilege to be part of their journey. Congratulations to our graduates, and thank you to all the families for your support and partnership.
