When everyone expects the CEO (including the CEO) to solve everything…

The team stalls.
Decisions slow down.
Problems pile up.

It’s not leadership — it’s a bottleneck.

Real leadership isn’t about having all the answers.
It’s about building systems, trusting people, and stepping out of the weeds.

Because when the CEO becomes the only problem-solver…the whole business suffers.

🔥 If this hits close to home, it’s time to rethink how you lead.

Most people never reach their full potential because they lack one key habit: CLARITY.

Clarity of purpose
Clarity of goals
Clarity of plan
Clarity of strengths and weaknesses

Without clarity, people jump into action without knowing where they’re headed.

They stay busy, feel tired, and end the week wondering why nothing changed.

Because they never stopped to make sure they were going in the right direction first.

Take 10 minutes today. Get clear. Then move.
Your results will change when your direction does.

Doing what matters ≠ Getting things done.

So many leaders tell me, “I worked all day… but nothing important got done.”

Clarity isn’t about more tools or tighter calendars. It’s about purpose.

What would happen if you only did what moved the needle this week?

Your team doesn’t need you busy — they need you aligned.

The moment I realized the hardest person to lead was myself, everything changed.

I used to think leadership was just about telling others what to do. The problem? I wasn’t doing any of it myself.

I had no credibility. A reputation for being a bad boss. On top of that, no one trusted me.

That’s when I started doing the real work. I got clear on my values. I strengthened my character.
I built better habits. I made it my mission to show people I cared, to serve them, and to earn back their trust.

Leadership isn’t a position—it’s a process. It all starts with leading yourself well.

If this hits home, take the free Individual Leadership Assessment and start the journey of becoming the kind of leader others want to follow.

5 Questions Every Great Leader Asks Weekly
Save this for your next team check-in.

Being a leader isn’t about having all the answers. It’s about asking the right questions—consistently. These 5 will transform how you lead and how your team grows.👇

🔹 1. “What’s one thing that’s slowing you down right now?”
Opens the door to real talk. You can’t fix what you don’t know.

🔹 2. “Where do you need support this week?”
Leadership is leverage—this question builds trust, fast.

🔹 3. “What are you proud of lately?”
Don’t just correct—celebrate. Confidence compounds.

🔹 4. “What have you learned this week?”
Growth-focused leaders create growth-focused teams.

🔹 5. “What would you change if you were in my shoes?”
Powerful perspective shift. Leaders who listen, lead better.

Behind the Scenes: How I Approach Leadership & Team Diagnostics

One of the most valuable things I do with clients isn’t flashy.
It’s not a motivational talk or a big strategy session.
It’s the real work of leadership and team diagnostics.

We use the SCALE Business Audit to assess the overall health of the company—strategy, culture, communication, systems, and leadership.
Then we use the SCALE Individual Audit to evaluate how each leader shows up, leads others, and drives results.

Here’s our approach:
1. Assess – We ask the tough questions most teams avoid. We look under the hood at how the business really runs.
2. Develop – We build a plan based on where the gaps are—in leadership, systems, or accountability.
3. Measure – We track progress so we’re not guessing. Wins and gaps both tell the truth.
4. Refine – We adjust based on real data and what’s actually working.
5. Improve – We don’t stop at “better.” We help leaders lead at a higher level—consistently.

Most businesses don’t need more ideas.
They need clarity, alignment, and the leadership to pull it all together.

If you’re dealing with turnover, inconsistent results, or teams that just can’t seem to click…
This process will show you why—and give you the tools to fix it.

Most problems aren’t people problems. They’re clarity and leadership problems.
Let’s fix that.

Most underperformance isn’t a people issue.
It’s a leadership and clarity issue.

When your team is under-resourced, they don’t just miss targets—they start to emotionally shut down.

This carousel walks through the 5 warning signs leaders often miss—and what to do about them.

Want to know how your leadership is impacting your team?

Start with clarity.

3 Things Successful Leaders Do Daily—Before They Ever Lead Anyone Else

Leadership starts long before the team shows up.

The best leaders I know begin their day by leading themselves.
They don’t just wing it—they win it before the day even begins.

Here are 3 daily self-leadership habits that make a measurable difference:

1️⃣ Center Their Mindset
They don’t start with chaos—they start with clarity.
Whether it’s prayer, journaling, gratitude, or stillness, they anchor their mind before leading anyone else.

2️⃣ Review Their Vision & Goals
They revisit why they’re showing up.
It’s not just about hitting targets—it’s about staying aligned with purpose.

3️⃣ Preview Their Calendar
They don’t let the day hijack their energy.
They proactively look ahead, prioritize, and create space to show up as their best.

👉 Leadership isn’t just what you do.
It’s who you’re becoming.
And it starts before the team ever sees you.

What’s one thing you do each day to lead yourself well?

🚨 Leadership Reflection: The Letter That Changed Everything

In my early 20s, I received a letter from Grand Valley State University.

It politely suggested I take some time off… to figure out what I wanted to do with my life.

Translation: You’re not ready. You’re not doing the work. It’s time for a reset.

That letter was a wake-up call.
And honestly, I needed it.

I had to get a job.
I had to pay my own rent.
I had to tell my parents I wasn’t going back to college.
I had to grow up—fast.

It was humbling. It was hard. It was the beginning of real growth.

And I think about that season often—especially now that I lead people from every generation.

Here’s the truth I’ve learned:

👉 Growth doesn’t happen without struggle.
👉 Leadership doesn’t form in comfort.
👉 And maturity doesn’t show up without hardship, humility, and hard-earned responsibility.

We need to stop trying to skip the uncomfortable parts.

Because until you’ve had to own it—your decisions, your consequences, your next steps—you don’t really know what you’re made of.

Leadership Lesson:
If you’re mentoring, coaching, or leading someone right now, don’t rescue them from every hard thing.
Help them walk through it—and grow through it.

That’s how leaders are made.

➡️ What was a “letter moment” in your life that shaped who you are today?

🚨 Leadership Truth From the Trenches

I used to believe that in order for my leadership to grow, I had to be impressive.

Impressive in what I said.
Impressive in what I did.
Impressive in what I accomplished.

But somewhere along the way, I looked around and realized… I was alone.

In trying so hard to impress people, I forgot to connect with them.

💡 Here’s what I’ve learned:
Leadership isn’t about being impressive.
It’s about being impressed by the growth and development of the people around you.

Yes, I still believe in being a leader worth following.
But people don’t follow perfection.
They follow someone who cares—and wants to help them grow.

If you’ve ever felt like you’re doing leadership “wrong,” you’re not alone.
But you don’t have to stay stuck.

👉 Where has this shown up in your own leadership journey?

What is success?

For me, success isn’t a destination. It’s a daily decision.

Here’s how I define it:
1. Honoring and glorifying God and His kingdom through my actions
2. Putting right relationships first—every single day
3. Maintaining my mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual health so I’m ready for what God or others may need from me
4. Choosing to be a learner—finding a lesson in every opportunity
5. Living in freedom, fueled by the consistent and abundant flow of money

This list keeps me grounded. It reminds me that real success is holistic. It’s not just about what I achieve—it’s about who I become while I’m achieving it.

How do you define success?

Drop your version in the comments—I’d love to learn from you.
