In honor of TEACHER APPRECIATION WEEK:
We are so proud to employ some of Colorado's most qualified professionals. Not only are our teachers life-long learners who often take multiple classes throughout the year to stay up-to-date with teacher certifications but they also work extra hard to ensure that your students have a memorable and engaging learning experience. To show appreciation, we want to invite every family to show your love for our teachers THIS week. There are a variety of ways you are able to do so, through a simple card from your child, to a special treat like a drink, or plant, orrrrr...you get the idea. At the check-in kiosk there is a notebook of "favorite things" from every teacher.

Thank you again for partnering with us to meet the needs of every student but also for being a vital part of the DKLC Family!

Once a year, the staff of Discovery Kids Learning Center, including both Fruita and Grand Junction locations, get to participate in a unified Staff Development Day. This event is filled with learning opportunities, community building activities, and staff celebrations. Our learning objectives included the following:

* "Choice Theory" as it relates to early childhood education and preschool behavioral practices.

* Cultivating a community of cohesiveness

* Recognizing the 5 universal practices that are the foundation of our program, including: Circle Time, Classroom Structure/Daily Schedules, Creative Curriculum (Play-Based), Classroom Setup (incorporating intentional learning centers to maximize learning outcomes), and Family engagement opportunities.

This day is designed to enhance our teachers' knowledge and skills in specialized areas related to Early Childhood Education. This opportunity promotes growth, improves job performance, and aligns staff to the mission of Discovery Kids Learning Center.
