The Western Colorado History Fair today was a great success. We had a lot of visitors to our table and enjoyed meeting and mingling with other groups at the fair. We answered some questions, met some new fans and learned some new and interesting history facts. The venue was awesome and the programs were informative. Thanks to everyone who helped make this event a success. And to top it off we stopped in at 357 Bar and Grill for a late lunch after the fair. The food was great, the staff was friendly and helpful and the Funnel Cake Fries were the perfect way to end our day.

Come see us tonight for the Fall Festival Kick-Off - Our Town. Our Stories. There will be music, games, and an opportunity to introduce the Grand Marshal at 6:00 pm. We'll hear stories from their past, and invite other to share some of their favorite Fruita memories. Lower Valley Heritage Chapter has a table with a collection of Fruita Union High School, Fruita High School and Fruita Monument yearbooks. You can browse some history of our very own Wildcats.

This really awesome artwork was donated to the Lower Valley Heritage Chapter and is currently being showcased in one of the display cases at the Civic Center. You might notice it’s missing a couple of states. Someone kindly donated a Hawaii license plate but we’re still looking for Alaska. If anyone has one they’d like to donate please comment or send us a message. Also, we’re hoping for a bit of assistance from someone about how to incorporate the two plates into this work of art. If you’re an artist or know someone who’d like to donate advice/recommendations/time for this project please also comment or message.
