Karin Nelson Coaching

Karin Nelson Coaching I help women stop self abandoning and learn self trust after divorce. Teaching you to unlearn divorce is selfish. Host of Becoming You Again Podcast I'm Karin.

Welcome to Karin Nelson Coaching. I am a Certified Confidence Coach helping women move beyond the betrayal of their divorce, to create more confidence and self love so they can have a life even better than when they were married. I'm a mother of two great teenagers who has worked steadily over the past five years to build the life I have always wanted. Five years ago I was at the end of my almost

20 year marriage, questioning who I was and what direction I wanted to go in. For many years I had lost myself and I wanted to find me again. I knew I deserved it, but wasn't sure I was worthy of having a good life. I had always loved self help and I dove into self help books searching for mentors and guidance on how to love myself again and how to build a life I had always dreamt of. I got a coach and learned to love myself again. I learned to have confidence in myself. I learned to move beyond the co-dependent relationship I had been in for so long. With the confidence and self love I was feeling I took a courageous step forward and started my own coaching practice aimed at helping as many divorced women as possible find peace and happiness on the other side of divorce. I have a BA in History and am a Certified Life Coach Practitioner from the School of Applied Modern Science. It is my honor and pleasure to help you create a life of confidence, independence and abundance all while empowering you to be 100% authentic in who you are. Schedule your free 30 minute consult with me and let me show you the amazing life that is within your reach after divorce. https://karinnelsoncoaching.as.me/

There’s a difference between a dad who helps because he’s an egalitarian parent and a dad who has 50/50 custody who’s legally expected to show up. She wasn’t bad at asking. And the divorce didn’t make him father of the year.

She's still in there.

Your worth was never tied to the marriage. Your value was never in how well you held the family together, how few problems you caused, or how comfortable you kept everyone else.

Wife, mom, nurturer...those were roles you filled, and you filled them beautifully. They were never the whole of you.

There is a woman under all of that who had opinions and a favorite song and things she wanted before anybody needed anything from her.

She's been waiting a long time for you to come back for her.

Both things are true at the same time.

Grief and freedom. Loneliness and clarity. Fear and the most powerful you have ever felt in your life.

You keep waiting for one of them to win so you'll finally know what your divorce was; a tragedy or a rescue. It was both. It stays both.

And the part you were most sure would break you is the exact part that brought you home to you.

Guilt is not a verdict.

You were taught your whole life that divorce is messy and selfish and shameful and that good women stay and try harder. So when you finally chose yourself, the guilt showed up right on schedule.

That guilt isn't information about your character. It's information about your conditioning.

And the overwhelm, the fear, the not-recognizing-yourself is not failure. That's what it actually feels like to undo something you absorbed before you were old enough to question it.

You're not falling apart. You're undoing conditioning that should have never been yours to begin with.

Your body isn't overreacting. It's under-informed.

His name shows up on your screen and your heart takes off like something's coming through the door. That's not you being dramatic, it's a normal response to a threat system that hasn't been updated yet. It learned during the marriage that his voice meant brace yourself, and it's still running that program.

The good news is it's a program, which means it can be rewritten. Slower breath, feet on the floor, hand on your chest, in this moment I'm safe, over and over until your body believes it before your brain has to argue for it.

That's when the texts stop running your whole afternoon.

Share this with a woman who’s waiting for a good enough reason to leave.

One of my clients asked me the other day, "But is it enough to break up a marriage just to be happy?"

And my answer was yes.

Because ask it the other way and listen to how it sounds. Is it enough to stay married just to be unhappy?

Nobody's ever asked me that one.

You are allowed to choose you. You are allowed to say, I don't want this to be my life any more.
