Benefits of a Wobble Chair

If a child is struggling to read, they often need more than worksheets and repetition.

They need instruction that engages multiple senses at the same time — seeing, hearing, touching, and moving.

This type of multisensory learning strengthens the brain pathways needed for reading and helps skills stick.

For many children, it’s the difference between guessing at words and truly understanding how reading works. 📚

We were graced by a surprise visitor at the office today, and it was one of those encounters that sticks with you. We don't even know her name, but we know a part of her story.

A benefit of being located next to the amazing Revive Hair Salon (other than having great neighbors!) is that we get random visits from moms and others who are curious about who we are and what we do.

This visitor shared that she has dyslexia, along with her son and three grandchildren. She said she was so thankful to see that we exist. She wasn't diagnosed until high school. She carried the thought that she was "dumb" until then because she couldn't read or perform in school the same way that others could. What she said next was the highlight - "The day I found out I have dyslexia was one of the best days of my life."

What a refreshing perspective! Freedom comes with a diagnosis. The weight that she carried far too long lifted once she knew it wasn't her fault. She was intelligent, and there was a reason why reading was hard.

Right before leaving, she asked, "Do you teach phonics?"

YES! We told her. She was so happy because she knows first hand that relying on memorizing every word is impossible. "Kids are lucky to find you. They need to be taught phonics."
