St. Johns Reading Room St. Johns Reading Room exists to help struggling readers succeed! We teach in St. Johns County, FL. www.stjohnsreadingroom.com

We specialize in 1-on-1 intensive reading intervention for students with reading difficulties, deficiencies, and dyslexia. Johns Reading Room offers a foundational reading program for struggling readers! We are one-on-one Intensive Reading Instruction/Therapy in the areas of phonological awareness and phonics using the Lindamood Phoneme Sequencing Program for Reading, Spelling and Speech (LiPS), Orton-Gillingham (OG) and the SJRR explicit and systematic curriculum.

✏️ 4 Benefits of Skywriting

1. Builds muscle memory: Large arm movements help children remember how to form letters.

2. Strengthens letter recognition: Seeing and forming a letter reinforces its visual shape.

3. Connects letters to sounds: Saying the letter’s sound while writing it helps reinforce the connection between the letter and its sound.

4. Engages multiple senses: Children use movement, vision, and auditory input to support learning.

We are using sky writing to help her visualize and practice spelling prefixes and suffixes!

This tricky spelling pattern can technically be pronounced 9 different ways in standard English!

However, for our emerging readers we focus on the 4 sounds that occur in the 140 sight words that research suggests must be known by the end of 2nd grade.

We set this goal long ago. We made it clear from the beginning that it would take patience, practice, and time to achieve—and she knew it would take the entire program to reach it.

She reached the first part of her goal and earned her baby Corgi. She kept pushing, kept practicing, and kept working toward the finish line until the day finally came when she could bring her mommy Corgi home! 🐶

THIS is what stamina and success feels like. We hope she looks back on this goal when things get hard and remembers she can do hard things. 🥰

Our team absolutely loves ROOTS Nutrition ST JOHNS, right across the street from us, and today the Slates treated our entire team to a FREE drink for Thankful Thursday’s Teacher Appreciation! 🥤🧋

What a sweet surprise and such a thoughtful way to make our teachers feel appreciated!
