No, we don't meet at 3 A.M., but sometimes the decisions writers have to make, can only be made by them at the darkest hour of their literary frustration: 3 A.M.

Hey 3 AMers, we're going to be recording interviews in the Arts Bus at Indie Lit Festival to be podcasted and you tubed throughout the year. So, what questions would you ask publishers? Writers? Post them here, and I'll include them on the interview sheet.

We need two volunteers for after the reading on Thursday night. Anybody? And anybody want to sell books at the Arts Walk this weekend (5-8 pm).

We also have a group page (Frostburg 3AM Society). We have been using that page more often as it allows more community involvement. Locations and times of weekly meetings will be posted there.

Hey all! Sorry about the late post delay. As our regular meeting place had a few diligent student within it, we will likely be meeting in one of the break-out rooms in CCIT. Stay tuned for the specifics!

02/05/2015

Alright, as a reminder: the first meeting of 3am is going on NOW in CCIT 152. We hope to see a few new faces, so come on out!

Hey folks, just some short business for you: As some of you may know, our Treasurer (Dom Rodgers) just graduated last semester. Where that spot has been filled, we have another opening: the Secretary. And, per FSU policy, all officers need to be elected in some manner, so we will be doing it on here.

Starting now and running until Saturday evening, any current student may submit their name in the running for the position via email. There is already one name on the ballot, Mr. Alex McAfee. If we do not get any other names BY SATURDAY, the position will default to him. If we DO get more interested people, a vote will be held via email for the position between all those that enter between SATURDAY and MONDAY, with the announcement coming out Monday afternoon. Those who are running still have a vote, so don't forget to check back in afterward!

In other news, our first meeting of Spring 2015 will be next Thursday, 2/5. The time and location will be posted here before Monday.

I hope to see you all out for another great semester!
(Anyone looking to run for the position can email me, President Blake Moore, at [email protected]. Please put "3AM Secretary" in the subject line.)

Hey all! We're up in CCIT 241 (pending attendance) tonight! Bring a cup and have some hot chocolate! This is the last meeting before break, so have a great break if you can't come out!

11/06/2014

Hey all, 3AM will be meeting at 5PM tonight in CCIT 152! If it happens that there are people in there still at that time, we'll meet in the hallway
and move out to somewhere else.

ALSO: People that signed up to prompts for the reading this Thursday:
This reading is not a thing to just "not show up" to. If you signed up to write something for it, at least pass on whatever you have written to someone that is willing to read it this Thursday in the rare chance you can't show up (and, after what happened with this workshop, I'll be expecting reasons. If you have a legitimate reason, say so by TUESDAY). If you need help getting something finished in time, come talk to us! We can try to work out a meeting with you to get your story/stories finished!

If it turns reading saw the same kind of "interest" that the workshop did today, we're all going to have a little sit-down at next week's meeting. We don't ask a lot from you guys, but we need you to follow up on things that you want to participate in.

10/26/2014

So guys, remember the descriptive writing workshop Vera was running today? The one that a few people said they were interested in coming out to? That was still a thing, and it started an hour and a half ago.

Now, you all know I'm not one to get too fussy, but we won't be holding workshops like this if the attendance is three times lower than the actual meetings. It just won't happen! It's just a waste of time (and, in this case, money) to try and do them if no one will actually show up. If this happens again, we won't bother trying a third one until next semester, at least. We'll be talking about this more on Thursday.
