May is such a busy month! I’ll be catching up on some posts from our last two weeks of school. I hope everyone has a safe and happy summer!

Field Day was indoors, but that didn’t dampen our spirits! Thank you to Mr. Settle, our staff, and our volunteers for a wonderful day!

Special thanks to Warren County Sheriff’s Office for organizing a wonderful DARE Day for our 5th graders! Everyone had a great time.

This tradition is a highlight of our year. Our former students visit to take a nostalgic walk down the hallway before their high school graduation. We cherish the opportunity to see them, share memories, and wish them continued success in the future. Once a Rhino, Always a Rhino!

2nd Grade’s Space Day
Students learned about NASA, watched a read aloud from an astronaut in space, read with finger lights, and took a virtual field trip to the Kennedy Space Center. They also completed a STEM activity which included designing a rocket to launch off of a straw.

Thanks to our PTO Board and Mrs. Curtis for hosting Muffins, Donuts & Memories yesterday. Our families enjoyed some fresh air and movement outside before starting their day at school.

Our Art Show was a great success! Every student had art on display. Thank you to Mrs. Lewis for all the time she spent preparing the art work for display and her Art Club! The art really brightens our hallway and showcases some incredible talent.

We’re preparing for our 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students to take their Virginia SOL tests beginning next week. If your child is testing, please encourage them to do their best!

Don’t forget about the book sale, bake sale, and raffle fundraiser for Miracle Kid Noelle at Hilda J. Barbour Elementary today from 4-6 pm. Books are priced from $0.25 - $1.00.
