Sacred Heart Hybrid Academy

We enrich Catholic homeschool families through a nurturing community and a unique hybrid nonprofit cooperative like model.

Our affordable education includes two days of in-person classes, state-required subjects, and a strong focus on Catholic values.

We had an AWESOME fall hike today on the feast of St. Carlo Acutis during fall break! We are so grateful to live in such a beautiful area and to have that time together for community.

🥚 Aren't you happy that we do experiments at school so you don't have to make a mess at home?

We love doing this with our students!

Our high schoolers got to hear from John at Thomas Aquinas College last week. It was an excellent introduction to the school and gave the students a lot to think about as they prepare for their future. We are so happy to be able to host representatives from colleges that our students are interested in!

All of our students received mission rosaries today straight from the beautification of now-Blessed Archbishop Fulton Sheen! These rosaries were touched to the 1st class relics of Saints Padre Pio and Carlo Acutis, making them 3rd class relics. 📿

Our younger students love doing enrichment time together!

We only have in-person class twice a week, which leaves the other three days open to learn wherever you want- including up on top of a mountain ⛰️

We find that the hybrid model works really well for families who want some structure and commitment but not the full five days a week that traditional schools offer. And they also get more time with their kids to balance academics with leisure and form those deep bonds and relationships together!

The prayers of our families and for our school are being brought today to the beautification of Archbishop of Fulton Sheen!

✝We had our first liturgical celebration of the year with the Exultation of the Cross! Our parents did an awesome job telling the story of St. Helen finding the True Cross and one of the parents literally built a cross for the occasion.

Supposedly the cross was found under a basil plant so the treat was caprese skewers - mozzarella, pesto, and tomatoes.

We are grateful to be able to do this for our students and families!

⚗ Our Chemistry students had (safe) fun with fire during their latest experiment. High school science classes with labs are required in South Carolina and we try to offer at least two science options with labs each year to help students meet those requirements. We have three this year: Biology, Earth Science, and Chemistry.
