Selected as three of just 19 recipients nationwide, they have been awarded the Hertz Foundation Fellowship—one of the nation’s most competitive honors in science and technology. The fellowship provides five years of funding and lifelong membership in a dynamic network of scientific leaders.

Over 120 Goldwater Scholars participated in the 2025 Gulf Coast Undergraduate Research Symposium at Rice University. The symposium is designed to help emerging scientists sharpen one of the most vital skills in research: communication. Instead of poster sessions, GCURS invites undergraduates to step to the podium, explain their work, and field questions from faculty and graduate-student mentors.
