Ms. Galvins class learned Scientific and Engineering Practices.

SOL 1.1. Had us find out why apples turn brown after cutting them and we found a solution to an itchy back that we can't reach, with just a few supplies, a partner, and a plan!

We:

Today fifth grade investigated how washable marker ink reacts with water with an activity you can easily do at home. We discovered different color inks are created by mixing other colors together, and that different brands have different "recipes" to make their colors!

Today in fifth grade, the students investigated oxidation with apples to help practice the scientific method process. We started with a question, formed a hypothesis, made observations and collected data, and finally created a conclusion!

🛝 All proceeds are going to building the kids’ new playgrounds. Right now, we have one new piece on each playground, but they are in desperate need of renewal.

LFK Staff celebrated the last day of school with Sipsy’s! Have a great summer, everyone!

Congratulations to our fifth graders on their elementary school graduation! We will miss you at LFK next year but know you will do amazing things in middle school and beyond!
