Our Engineering students have officially secured a table at the Festival of Leaves and now the hard work begins. Meet the students who will be busy designing, creating, and 3D printing items to sell at their booth. All the proceeds will go directly back into the program help fund new materials.

Along with being a school-based enterprise that helps these young people earn credit and transcript accolade, these projects help students put real value on what they're learning. This isn't just busy work to take up a class period, this is the whole process of from ideation to fabrication.

If you're out enjoying the (hopefully) beautifiul weather October 10th, please stop by and see our community's future engineers. Even you don't buy anything, giving them a chance to talk about their projects and build their self-esteem is priceless.

Nope, Culinary didn’t get a head start on lunch!

Our Health & Medical Sciences students got hands on with anatomy by dissecting chicken wings to get a closer look at muscles, tendons, ligaments, and joints and see how they all work together to create movement.

There’s a big difference between seeing anatomy in a textbook and being able to actually examine how those structures connect and function!

(And don’t worry, we made sure none of our culinary students tried to claim the leftovers)

Local 602 has an Open House coming up this weekend. If you’re thinking about what comes next after graduation, this is a great opportunity to learn more about their apprenticeship program, see what they have to offer, and ask questions in person.

• Tour BRTC and see our CTE programs and facilities firsthand
• Learn what students are doing in the classroom
• Share industry insight on how careers, technology, and workforce needs are changing
• Discuss ways we can strengthen our programs to better prepare students for the workplace
• Connect with other local business and community partners

💪 Can you build the human muscular system from scratch?

That’s the challenge Mrs. North gave her Intro to Health & Medical Sciences students! Students had to create individual muscles, place them correctly on their models, and then face the real test: identifying the muscles for Mrs. North once their models were complete.

It’s one thing to memorize muscles from a diagram. It’s another to figure out where they actually belong, build them, and prove you know what you created!

A hands on way to turn anatomy into something students can see, build, and test their knowledge on.
