Last week we celebrated a year of hard work, dedication, and the incredible accomplishments of our students across every program.

Thank you to the parents, families, teachers, staff, and community members who came out to support our students and present scholarships during our award night. Your support helps make nights like this possible and reminds our students that their community is behind them every step of the way.

Throughout the evening, students were recognized for their achievements in Automotive Technology, Electricity, Carpentry, Culinary Arts, Programming, Welding, PLTW Engineering.

We were also proud to celebrate several special milestones:
🩺 Nursing students received their pins
🥼 Biomedical students participated in their White Coat Ceremony
🎓 Patient Care Technician students received their stoles
⚖️ Criminal Justice students received their stoles

Every award, certification, stole, and pin represents hours of work, determination, growth, and resilience.

Congratulations to all of our students. We are incredibly proud of everything you have accomplished and excited to see what comes next for each of you.

Thank you Megan Chacon for taking all the photos!

A heartfelt thank you to Front Royal Elks Lodge #2382 for their continued generosity during Teacher Appreciation Week. Each year, they make sure our staff feels supported and cared for, and this year was no different.

The boxed lunches were thoughtfully put together with deli pinwheels, chicken salad, fresh fruit, sweet treats, and almonds. It was the kind of meal that lets you pause for a moment and actually enjoy your day.

We truly appreciate your consistency and kindness toward our teachers. It does not go unnoticed.

Our Project Lead the Way Biological Innovations students wrapped up their capstone projects this week by presenting to members of the community and family members.

Over the course of the semester, these students designed and carried out their own research, testing their hypotheses on their fellow students, teachers, and administrators. They explored everything from the effects of heavy metals and va**ng, to antimicrobial properties of different materials, to how screen time, nature sounds, and classical music might influence focus and well-being.

It wasn’t all smooth sailing. Experiments had to be adjusted. Data didn’t always cooperate. At one point, a student had to deal with dead worms. But that’s the work. And instead of stopping, they adapted, reworked, and kept going.

That’s what made this so impressive.

They didn’t just complete a project; they experienced the reality of scientific research: problem-solving, resilience, and critical thinking in action.

These students are stepping into a future where they’ll be the ones asking hard questions: what’s impacting our health, what’s helping, and what needs to change.

And after seeing their work this week, that future feels like it’s in capable hands.

We kicked off Teacher Appreciation Week the right way thanks to Poppy's Place Front Royal VA, who generously donated breakfast for our staff.

Biscuits and gravy, full plates, and even fuller hearts. It’s hard to overstate how much gestures like this mean during a busy time of year.

Thank you for supporting our teachers and helping us start the week on such a good note!

The second semester just started, but we’re already thinking ahead to our graduating seniors.

We’re inviting local businesses to join us for a free hiring event focused on connecting employers with high school seniors ready to enter the workforce.

This is a great opportunity to meet motivated students, share what your business offers, and start building your future workforce right here in our community.

Mr. Abel’s Electrical class at the Blue Ridge Technical Center spent the week raising funds to purchase FIVE brand-new kids’ bikes—and then rolled up their sleeves to assemble every single one! These students were so excited to give back and help make the holiday season a little brighter for some very deserving kiddos. 🎄

Pictured (from left to right): Justin Rhodes, Stephen Craig, and Elijah Walker — three outstanding students making a big difference! 🙌

Huge THANK YOU to Mr. Abel's Electrical class for their hard work, generosity, and community spirit!

Coins for Bikes: Big Impact from Small Change 💙🚲

Our Electricity students have been working on something pretty special. Through their Coins for Bikes campaign, they came together, donated their spare change, and raised enough money to purchase four brand-new bicycles.

We are so proud of their effort and the spirit behind it.

And quietly in the background, they’re also getting ready for the upcoming SkillsUSA competition that will be hosted here at BRTC. Lots of good things happening in that classroom.
