New parents put so much care and intention into every decision—they research the best crib mattress, compare strollers and car seats, explore feeding options, and carefully consider childcare choices. Every detail matters when it comes to giving their baby the best start.
But one area that deserves just as much attention is car seat safety and proper installation.
Choosing a car seat is only part of the equation. Ensuring it’s installed correctly and that your child is positioned safely every time you travel is essential. Even the highest-rated seat can’t do its job if it’s not used properly.
Taking the time to learn about car seat safety, double-check installation, and stay up to date with current guidelines can make a life-saving difference. It’s one of the most important ways to protect your child—every single ride.
If you're local Children's Hospital in Plano has a car seat safety technician on site the 2nd and 4th Friday of every month who is available to check your car seats, and teach you how to install them properly and ensure your child is buckled in properly.
They also offer this service at the Dallas location on the 1st and 3rd Monday of every month. The service is free however you do need an appointment.
If you're looking for someone to come to your home, Jesus is fantastic. He has been a car seat safety technician for 17 years, he is also an instructor.

⏰ Day light savings is TONIGHT!
While changing the clocks may feel disruptive, babies usually adjust well with a little preparation and patience. The key is to move slowly and keep your routines consistent.
Helpful tips:
⏰Move bedtime 10–15 minutes earlier each night for a few days before the change.
🌙Keep the bedtime routine consistent (bath, pajamas, feeding, lullaby).
😴If baby seems overtired, allow a slightly earlier bedtime temporarily.
Avoid overstimulation before bedtime.
Watch for sleep cues instead of only relying on the clock.
Keep nighttime interactions quiet and dim.
Be patient. Sleep may feel off for a few days, but with consistency your baby will align their sleep with the new time.

Dear clients: The safety of our Specialists are a top priority. As you all have heard, we're expecting some bad winter weather. It is at the discretion of each Specialist if they want to drive to your home for their shift or not. Simply Newborns is recommending our Specialists stay home and off the roads. Thank you for understanding. If your Specialist has time within her schedule, she can make up the nights at a later time.
Thank you for understanding and please ensure you're prepared with everything you need to keep those babies warm should you experience power outages.
