Helping FriscoISD students plan their high school career and earn an associate’s degree in high school.

12/13/2025

Beckett Floyd has been diligently working on earning a college degree for the past two and a half years. Tonight (at 17 years old) five months before high school graduation, he accomplished that goal. He walked the stage tonight and accepted his associate of science degree from Collin College. He is just the second student in the history of Frisco Independent School District to accomplish this by December of senior year. We are incredibly proud of his hard work and dedication in accomplishing this incredible goal. Congratulations Beckett!

What is your student doing this winter break to earn college credit? It’s not too late to sign up for a Wintermester class at Collin College. (Or consider registering for spring semester now!) Wintermester classes start December 15 and end January 8. Classes that some of our students have been successful taking during short semesters are:

ARTS 1301
SPCH 1311
SOCI 1301

Talk to your high school counselor asap to register!

Another way to earn college credit over the Christmas break is by taking a CLEP test. Some of our students have earned 14(!) Collin College credits from passing just one test. That’s a whole semester of tuition saved by passing one low cost or free test. Message me for details.

Popular CLEP tests our students have taken:

Spanish (up to 14 credits)
US History (up to 6 credits)
Business Information Systems (3 credits)
Biology (8 credits)

Finally we have a big announcement coming up on December 12! (Hint is the picture. 🎓)

Did your student leave their AP exams unsure of their possible score and fearing that it was a “waste” because they may not earn college credit for it? In my opinion, no learning is a waste and even the test teaches us something. But something that some of our FISD students are doing this summer is taking the correlating CLEP tests so they can earn possible college credit even if they don’t pass the AP. These tests are all accepted at Collin College and will count toward an associates degree. Some CLEP tests that FISD students are taking this summer are:

Precalculus (4)
Calculus (4)
History I (3)
History II (3)
American Government (3)
Psychology(3)
Sociology(3)
Biology (8)
Chemistry (8)
Spanish (14)

(The number in parenthesis is the number of credits earned at Collin if the test is passed) Just look how many college credits can be earned this summer! Your student already studied for the AP test, might as well take one more.

Let me know if you have questions.

Did you know that Frisco ISD grants high school credit for passing a CLEP test? We have students in our program that have passed the business information systems clep for their technology credit. This CLEP is accepted by many public universities in Texas including Texas A&M as part of the Business degree or as an elective for students not majoring in business.

Contact us for more information about CLEP testing and Frisco ISD.
