Spring Frolic 2021🌷

We ended last week by celebrating different cultures as International Dress Up Day. It was so nice to see the children dressed in their traditional dresses. Thank you to all parents for helping us celebrate.

Last week we concluded our journey of continents by visiting Antarctica, the 5th largest continent. It is also the world’s highest, driest, windiest, coldest, and iciest continent.

Photos from Aspiring Minds Montessori's post

• Australia/Oceania is the smallest continent of the seven continents.
• The Great Barrier Reef in Eastern Australia is the biggest coral reef system in the world. The reef consists of more than 3,000 reefs and 900 islands. The Barrier Reef is home to over 350 species of corals and over 1,500 species of fish.
• The biggest cities in Australia are Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, Brisbane and Adelaide.
• Australia is home to many animal species. Among the most well-known Australian animals are kangaroos, wombats and koalas.

• Africa is the world's second largest continent.
• It is the world's hottest continent with deserts and drylands covering 60% of land surface area (e.g., Kalahari, Sahara, and Namib).
• The Sahara is the largest desert in the world and is bigger than the continental USA.
• It is the world's second driest continent (after Australia).
• The civilization of ancient Egypt is one of the world’s oldest and longest-lasting civilizations.
• It is home to the world’s largest living land animal, the African elephant, which can weigh up to 7 tons.

“Think left and think right and think low and think high. Oh, the thinks you can think up if only you try!”
- "Oh, the Thinks You Can Think!" by Dr. Seuss

Continuing with our journey of continents we landed in Europe. Children had fun doing the Eiffel Tower craft with different materials. It was amazing to see their concentration when they were trying to work with the materials and the precision by which they made sure that it stayed within the outlines. Great job 👏
