The Muraqaba School

Every child is a khalifah (representative) of Allah, appointed before they ever walked into the classroom.

This is what makes tarbiyah so different from behaviour management. While behaviour management sees a student, tarbiyah sees a soul with a divine purpose and an eternal destination. When a Murabbi carries this understanding into their work, the difficult child is met with more patience, the struggling child is met with more compassion, and every moment of guidance becomes an act of service to Allah.

That is the weight and the beauty of this work.

Ibn al-Mubarak understood that knowledge without character causes harm regardless of intention.

Somewhere along the way, our schools lost this fact. Curriculum moved to the front and character became an afterthought, something addressed when behaviour breaks down rather than cultivated from the very beginning.

Every school that calls itself Islamic has to ask a serious question: are we building children who know, or children who are?

It takes a gardeners mindset to do real Tarbiyah 🌱

Resilience is something Allah already placed within us.

Camus saw it too. No matter what life throws at us, there is something within that pushes back. As Muslims, we know what that something is. It's iman. It's tawakkul. It's the certainty that Allah's promise of ease alongside hardship (94:5) is always a guarantee.

The world will push. But what's inside you, if you nurture it, will always push back harder.
