It's the shortest day of the year! (If you're in the Northern Hemisphere.)

December 21 is the day of the winter solstice, the time of the year when the Sun's path reaches its southernmost point in the sky. Also known as the December solstice, Dec. 21 is the longest day of the year (and the start of astronomical summer) in the Southern Hemisphere.

From now on, the days will start to get longer—or shorter—depending on where in the world you are. Want to learn more? We've got your solstice info: https://go.nasa.gov/3EcnfxP

Fun fact of the day!!

Today’s date is a palindrome and also an ambigram. You can read it left to right, right to left, and also upside down.
