Little Learners Big Success: Starting Prekindergarten is a major milestone—for both children and parents! As your school counselor, I'm here to share tips to help your child feel confident, independent, and ready for this exciting new routine.

The Power of Routine:
Bedtime Routine - Start a consistent bedtime routine. Aim for 10–12 hours of sleep, include calming rituals (bath, story, snuggles), and avoid screens before bed.
Predictable mornings help! Use a visual schedule, practice dressing, and try fun alarms to make mornings smoother.

Before School Starts: You can help your child feel confident and ready for school by encouraging independence and modeling a positive and calm mindset. Get familiar with the carpool map, school hours, and procedures. Acknowledge their emotions, reassure them they are safe, and stick to your drop-off routine. Together, make a simple plan for a successful day and remind your child that their teacher is there to help. Your confidence in your child helps build their confidence in themselves.

"Aloha! I am so excited to be joining the teaching team at The Early Childhood School this year!

For the past ten years, I have had the privilege of serving the beautiful Waiʻanae community in Hawaiʻi at Kamaile Academy, where I most recently served as Vice Principal. While it is bittersweet to say a hui hou (until we meet again) to my beloved keiki (children) and community in the islands, I am thrilled to relocate to Texas and bring my passion for early childhood education to Frisco ISD!

I hold a Master’s in Education from the University of Pennsylvania and am currently finishing up my Doctorate in Educational Leadership at Drexel University. I am incredibly passionate about ensuring our youngest learners have an equitable, high-quality foundation where they can truly thrive."
