The Students and teachers had such a good time at the valentine's party today! Music and dancing, Treats, snacks, and always lots of laughter are the makings of a successful party.
Ms. Khawla's class did a bread tasting activity today. The kids loved trying different kinds of breads and came back for seconds, thirds, and even fourths! Their observations about the shape, color, and texture were priceless. One student noted that the tortilla bread was "flat so it is not solid" (utilizing what she learned about plane figures vs. solid shapes). Another child said the naan bread was the shape of a pear. We enjoyed reading the book, "Breads, Breads of the World", and then made a graph of their favorite breads.
Froggies children look so cute proudly holding their art work !
Blue Jays made brownie and pretzel spiders, wore bat, cat and ghost hats and sang a lovely Halloween song.
Ms. Karla's class, Blue Jays, made apple sauce today. It was a hands on learning activity. They used their five senses and even the mathematical concepts of measurements and fractions were utilized. The aroma of the cooked apple sauce floated in the hallways of the school. The children loved the yummy sauce.
Blue Jays class did apple tasting yesterday under the guidance of Ms. Karla. Later the children talked about their favorite kind of apple. This kind of activity encourages group discussion. Even the shy ones are encouraged to speak up and make a contribution.
It was so hard to see my kindergartners say good bye to me. We had them in our school since they were babies. We cared for them and loved them and now we had to let them go. Good luck my children. Wish you all the best.
We celebrated Fourth of July in a big way. We marched to the sound of patriotic music holding flags, streamers and wearing hats. Later the children were served special treat of cookies and watermelon.
