✏️ Thinking belongs to the students.

In this classroom, Trail Blazers were up, moving, collaborating, and working through problems together on the boards around the room.

When students have to explain their thinking, test ideas, make corrections, and learn alongside one another, the classroom becomes more than a place to get answers. It becomes a place to build understanding.

We love seeing learning that is active, visible, and student-driven. 💚💛

🧪 Learning by doing.

Students were fully engaged in the lab today, working together, asking questions, and putting classroom concepts into practice.

There is something powerful about seeing students move from learning the science to actually doing the science. Hands-on experiences like these help build curiosity, confidence, and the problem-solving skills that carry far beyond the lab table.

Before students can tell a story through the lens, they need to understand what is happening behind it. 📸

In Ms. Mendoza’s Photojournalism class, students created Camera Anatomy posters to break down the parts, mechanics, and functions of a camera. By turning technical information into visual explanations, students were learning not only how a camera works, but how each component affects the images they create.

It is the kind of work that builds the foundation for stronger photographers and more thoughtful visual storytellers.

Tennis, volleyball, cross country, and football are all in action as our fall athletics season gets rolling. There are plenty of opportunities this month to get out, support our student-athletes, and bring some Trail Blazer energy to the stands.

Touchdown at the HOCO Tailgate

Trail Blazers, get ready to kick off Homecoming week with Touchdown at the HOCO Tailgate on Tuesday, September 22, from 5:00–7:30 p.m.

Join us at the LTHS field behind the cafeteria for an evening of food, games, and Homecoming fun. Families and students can enjoy Dippin’ Dots, field games, a food truck, and more. Admission to the tailgate is free, but be sure to bring money if you would like to purchase food.

After the tailgate, keep the school spirit going by heading over to support Trail Blazer Varsity Volleyball as they take on Emerson in their Homecoming match.

Put it on your calendar! Come spend the evening with Trail Blazer Nation, enjoy some time together, and help us build the excitement for Homecoming!
