There is a difference between a place to play and a place designed for learning through play.

At Gymboree, our equipment doesn't stay in the same place month after month. Every three weeks, our play floor is completely redesigned using familiar equipment in new configurations. Why? Because young children learn through movement, exploration and problem solving.

A child may recognize the bridge they've climbed before — but this week it's positioned differently, connected to something new, or asking them to approach it in a completely different way. Suddenly they're planning their movements, testing an idea, adjusting, balancing, building confidence and discovering what their body can do.

And the equipment is only part of it.
