Seeing the news that this new chapter for the Little Sprouts building is moving forward has brought up a lot of emotions for me. ❤️
For nearly 13 years, Little Sprouts was my life. I gave that business my heart and soul. I poured countless hours, energy, love, and sacrifices into making it a place where children could feel safe, loved, and cared for. And I made sacrifices that weren’t always visible to anyone outside of my family.
I will always be incredibly grateful for every child who walked through those doors and for every family who trusted me with their most precious people. I loved each and every one of those children in a way that is hard to put into words, and I will carry those memories with me forever.
I will also always be incredibly grateful for the financial support we received from our church throughout the years. Quite honestly, Little Sprouts could not have survived financially for as long as it did without that support. I will forever be thankful for the people who believed in us and supported what we were trying to do for the families of this community.
Closing Little Sprouts was one of the hardest decisions I’ve ever had to make. It wasn’t because I stopped caring. It wasn’t because the children didn’t matter. And it certainly wasn’t a decision I made lightly. The truth is simply that I could not physically continue doing it all on my own. Sometimes loving something means recognizing when you can no longer give it what it deserves.
I don’t feel the need to justify the decision we made. We lived it. We know how much was poured into those 13 years, and most of that story happened quietly, behind the scenes, where very few people could see it.
So instead of focusing on the things that have been said, I’m choosing to focus on what Little Sprouts truly was to me: 13 years of little voices, hugs, milestones, friendships, laughter, hard days, good days, and so many children and staff who will forever hold a special place in my heart. We had some of the most amazing ladies who became family.
And now, I’m genuinely happy to see the building have a chance to become something special again. I’m thankful for all those who have worked so hard to make this happen, and I truly hope this next chapter is filled with the same love, memories, and impact that Little Sprouts was blessed enough to have for so many years.
Little Sprouts may have closed its doors, but the love that went into it—and the children who made it what it was—will always be a part of me.
Closing this chapter is harder than I ever imagined possible, but I’m grateful the building will continue to be used to support the families on this island.
Lots of love, one last time, from Little Sprouts. ❤️
