Add words to your everyday conversations with Wednesday Words! Add a sentence with this week’s word and the hashtag .
This past Monday, we posted a question where you were challenged to find the value of each figure: a rocket ship, a sun, and a star. To find the solution, start with the first line: a rocket ship added to a rocket ship equals 16. Since there are 2 rocket ships, divide 16 by 2 to get 8. Then, move to the third line, which has a rocket ship added to a sun equal to 28. Since the rocket ship is equal to 8, subtract 28 and 8 to get 20. Next, move on to the second line with a sun added to 2 stars equal to 40. Subtract 20 from 40, and you will have 20 left. However, we want to know how much is one star, so divide 20 by 2 to get 10. Last, find the value of the 4th line by adding 10 + 20 + 8, which is 38.

Taking a road trip or going on a vacation this summer? You can keep kids’ minds active by preparing a few educational games to play while you’re on the road!
These three games require no prep and no materials and can be modified for younger and older family members, so they’re easy to use while you’re on the go:
Category Game - Name a category, and your family members will take turns saying things within that category. Make it more challenging by listing things in alphabetical order!
Round Robin - Turn your entire family into storytellers using a prompt and giving each person an opportunity to add a piece (such as a sentence) to the story. Need a prompt, try: “Once upon a time, there was a whale going on a trip, and then...”
Sparkle - In this game, family members can compete to be the winner by counting up to a certain number (such as 15). You can count 1, 2, or 3 consecutive numbers, and the person who says the last number (such as 15) must also say “sparkle”, and then they’re out of the game. The rounds continue until one person is the winner, and this game can also be played with spelling words!

Our Story

Formerly MathWizard. A Grade Ahead's educational enrichment programs promote critical thinking and problem solving while building essential skills.

If you're interested in enrolling at A Grade Ahead at Frisco, please visit our website www.agradeahead.com/frisco for more information.

A Grade Ahead's founders saw the need for an after-school Math Program that would provide students with equal exposure to numerical and word problems. A Grade Ahead began in 2001 under the name MathWizard with the Mail Program, in which study material was sent via mail. As the Math Program grew in popularity across the country, the English Program was introduced in 2004.

The continuous success of A Grade Ahead's study material and teaching method encouraged our company to open the first math and English Learning Center in Dublin, OH, in 2006. More learning centers have opened since then, and A Grade Ahead continues to expand across the country.
