Things were heating up at the Soaring Eagles Summer Camp this morning! 🚒🔥
The Frisco Fire Department stopped by to help our students learn about community helpers and the important role firefighters play in keeping our city safe. Students enjoyed an interactive experience, got an up-close look at a fire truck, and asked plenty of burning questions!
A big thank you to the Frisco Fire Department for sparking curiosity and taking the time to invest in our students.

🇩🇴 Dominican Republic, Day 3 of Camp in the Books!
Today was our final day of camp, and it flew by. Over the past few days, our students built meaningful relationships with the children in the program, making every goodbye difficult.
This morning, Mr. Rose reminded us that God calls us to be a city on a hill and that light shines brightest in darkness. Throughout the day, we worshiped, danced, laughed, and celebrated each student as they received a special award and letter from their group.
For our seniors, today was especially bittersweet. Many have been part of this trip for four years, sponsoring children and watching them grow year after year. Their leadership, commitment, and faithfulness have helped this program flourish, and it has been a gift to see the legacy they are leaving behind.
As camp came to a close, there was shirt signing, laughter, and tears as we said “see you soon” to some of our youngest friends. While goodbyes are never easy, we are grateful for the relationships formed and the ways God has worked in hearts this week.
“We hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for He who promised is faithful.” — Hebrews 10:23
Thank you for your continued prayers as we finish our time in the DR and walk in all God is doing.

Day 2 in the Dominican Republic was incredible! 🇩🇴❤️
Yesterday marked their first day of camp, and it was filled with so many special moments. Several LCA students were reunited with children they sponsor through 25 Project, friendships that have continued to grow since last year. Seeing those joyful reunions was something no one will soon forget!
The day was packed with fun, including plenty of hacky sack, crafts, fútbol, swimming, and lots of laughter. We were also blessed by amazing performances from the children involved in 25 Project, who shared their talents and enthusiasm with us.
Coach Kilpatrick challenged us with a powerful message about the unity of the Body of Christ, reminding us that although we come from different places and backgrounds, we are one family in Christ.
Most importantly, our students spent the day loving on these kids, building relationships, and sharing the love of Jesus through every interaction.
Thank you for your continued prayers as we head into another exciting day of camp today.

The Journey Dominican Republic Student Trip is off and running! 🇩🇴
Yesterday was a beautiful first day as the team served at the ministry center, loved on the kids, helped serve lunch, worshiped together, and shared testimonies. One especially meaningful moment was hearing from a student in the program about how she is making her faith her own.
The team also walked through the village with the kids, met their families, visited their homes, and prayed over them. It was a powerful start to the trip, and we are grateful for all God is already doing.
Today, camp begins! Please pray for everyone to see God more deeply, and for health, safety, and strength throughout the week.

After a week of ministry in villages along the Amazon River, the LCA Journey Family Trip is nearing the end of its adventure and is almost finished with the 40-hour boat ride back to catch their flight home.
Thank you for praying for them as they ministered in both word and deed, seeing people draw closer to Christ.
Please continue to pray for safe travels home, for the people they served, and for each team member as they reflect on all God has done during this Journey.
And the summer is just getting started! This Saturday, the Journey Dominican Republic student trip departs. Please pray for 37 students and staff members as they serve Haitian refugee children, sharing the love and hope of Christ.

What an incredible day yesterday on the Journey Amazon trip!
Yesterday, LCA dad Mark had the opportunity to preach the Gospel in the village the team was visiting. God worked in a powerful way, opening the heart of a woman to receive the message of Christ. LCA mom and teacher Kathryn was then able to share with her personally and lead her to faith in Jesus.
Our students are also having a great time serving alongside the team, playing with the children, leading VBS activities, and sharing the love of Christ with everyone they meet.
Thank you for praying! God is answering those prayers in incredible ways. Please continue to pray for the team as they travel by boat to the next village - please pray for the rest they need, safety, health, and for God to continue opening hearts as our teams share the Good News.

Journey Trips 2026 are officially underway! 🌎✈️
Our first team has arrived in the Amazon after a long day of travel and is already hard at work preparing for ministry. Yesterday, the team spent time organizing supplies for the various outreach efforts, including eyeglasses, VBS, women’s and men’s ministries, medical care, and dental services.
Today, they will begin traveling by boat into remote villages along the Amazon River, where they will have the opportunity to serve both the physical and spiritual needs of the people they meet.
Please join us in praying for this team as they begin their ministry:
- That God would go before them and prepare hearts
- For health, safety, and strength throughout the trip
- For meaningful conversations and lasting connections
- For opportunities to share the love of Christ
- For restful sleep as they prepare for the days ahead
We can't wait to see how God works through the Journey Amazon team! 💚
