LPS's Career Readiness Program is growing leaders all summer long!
Alongside our community partner, Hispanohablantes, our secondary student volunteers generously gave their time to help set up for the Hispanohablantes โFin de Aรฑo Escolar: Unidos Celebramosโ celebration on Friday, May 29, at Warren Park in Frisco.
Through this experience, our students are not only growing as leaders but also deepening their community engagement by supporting local families and organizations. They are developing valuable career readiness skills in teamwork, communication, event coordination, and service while making a meaningful impact in the communities they serve. By investing their time and talents, our students continue to grow in leadership, civic responsibility, and their commitment to building stronger, more connected communities.

Today was all about celebrating excellence across our district! ๐๐
We had the privilege of honoring our Teacher Incentive Award (TIA) recipients from all three campuses, recognizing the incredible educators who go above and beyond every day to impact student lives and inspire greatness.
Our Secondary Campus added even more excitement to the celebration with our annual staff awards, recognizing individuals who consistently make our school community stronger:
๐ Support Staff of the Year: Mrs. Britany Dubose-Blankenship
๐ Above & Beyond Award: Ms. Rachel Stonecipher & Mrs. Retna Shaw
๐ Teacher of the Year: Mrs. Trina Moody
We are so fortunate to work alongside individuals who continuously show up, pour into others, and make a difference every single day.
Congratulations to all of our honorees! Thank you for the impact you make and for helping create a culture where excellence thrives.

What a fun way to wrap up our last full day of school!๐๐
Our Staff vs. Students Basketball Game at the secondary campus had everyone on the edge of their seats and brought the energy from start to finish. The competition was fierce, the crowd was loud, and it truly came down to the very last second!
A huge congratulations to our teachers, coaches, and admin team for pulling off the win! ๐๐ฝ๐ Looks like experience (and maybe a little extra competitiveness ๐) came in clutch.
Times like today reminds us that school is about more than lessons and assignments, itโs about community, connection, laughter, and making memories together. What an awesome way to close out an incredible year! โค๏ธ๐ค

Our 8th grade students in Mrs. Catalanโs science class recently engaged in a Project-Based Learning experience on Environmental Species where they explored how organisms survive, adapt, and evolve over time. Through collaboration and investigation, students examined trait variations and classified adaptations as structural, behavioral, or physiological while diving deeper into the role these traits play in survival.
Students worked together to investigate how genetic traits change across generations through natural selection, analyzed food webs, and discussed the interconnected roles of producers, consumers, and apex predators. More importantly, they practiced critical thinking, collaboration, communication, and problem-solving, the very skills that prepare them for success beyond the classroom.
