Maizie didn’t miss her mom on the first day. Her mom says it was the best possible sign.

Meet Ivybrook Academy Frisco parents Hailey and Alex Nelon.

When they enrolled Maizie at Ivybrook Frisco, they knew she was ready to be somewhere. She was craving interaction and connection. What they didn’t expect was how fast she’d make it her own.

“The first day she came running out, she was like, ‘I love school. School’s my favorite place to be.’”

Although a little sad that Maizie didn’t miss her, Hailey was relieved, because her daughter had found a place that was both comfortable and exciting.

At home, they started noticing things. Maizie talking about Ms. Agustina. About Ms. Angie and Ms. Val. About the zebra she made in crafts.

And then — the part that stood out most was the skills transferring. Things Maizie figured out at home that nobody had taught her there. New ideas she was trying.

“You can see her little synapses firing when she figures stuff out at home.”

Meet the Ivybrook curriculum: the Ivybrook Way 🌱

Most preschools pick one educational philosophy and build the whole day around it. We built ours around multiple proven methodologies to create a tailored learning path for every child.

❇️ From Montessori, we take independence, self-directed activity, and respect for the child’s pace.

You’ll see children choosing their own work, moving through it at their own pace, and learning to trust themselves along the way.

❇️ From Reggio Emilia, we take creative expression and the idea that the environment itself teaches.

Our classrooms are designed with natural materials, open-ended projects, and space for collaboration, because how a room is built shapes how a child learns in it.

❇️ From the Theory of Multiple Intelligences, we take the belief that there isn’t one way of learning. Some children think in words, some in numbers, some in movement, some in images.

All are working toward the same kindergarten-readiness goals: academic foundations and the social-emotional skills to use them.

In practice, this means every child at Ivybrook has an individualized learning plan: not a template, but a working document built around how that specific child thinks, plays, and processes the world. Our teachers can tell you, on any given day, what your child is working on and why.

Meet Ms. Riley 💚

Ms. Riley has journeyed with Ivybrook Academy since 2023.

She was born and raised in Jacksonville, Florida, and originally began with Ivybrook at the Julington Creek campus. From starting out teaching Pre-K to becoming an administrative assistant, she’s learned to step into different roles and adapt to help each child with their personal academic, social, and emotional needs.

Ms. Rylie has a love for creating an unforgettable school experience for students and families and believes that building strong and personal relationships with families is an important part of creating a beautiful community of students that get to share the Ivybrook experience for their formative years.

She trusts that Ivybrook Academy gives students a first-class educational experience. The curriculum, community, and school culture prepare young minds for their future academic career.

She moved to Frisco over the summer and is happy to serve the families of Ivybrook Academy Frisco as a School Admin & Educator Support. 💚

Summer update from Maizie. 👸

Maizie has been busy with Disney trips and beach days!

Now she's ready for five days a week and to see Ms. Agustina and her Ivybrook friends.

She's reading quite a bit these days too, which is just one more thing to be proud of as she heads into a new year of growing, exploring, and learning.

We'll see you soon, Maizie! We can't wait to see what this year holds for you.

From LA to Frisco, here’s how one family discovered Ivybrook Academy.

After moving to Frisco, Mikayla was looking for a half-day preschool with a child-led curriculum that matched the values her family already had.
