Deepika Devershetty was recognized by Borchardt Elementaryfor her great work especially when working in Special Education classes.
Deepika describes herself as having a deep passion for supporting students with diverse learning needs and helping them feel safe, understood, and confident. She believes every child learns differently, and she enjoys finding calm, patient, and creative ways to help them succeed. She strives to bring warmth, structure, and positivity into the classroom.
Deepika says, "I enjoy most about being a Special Education Substitute is the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in a child’s day — sometimes even with the smallest moments. Every student teaches me something new, and I appreciate how collaborative and welcoming the ESS Frisco staff are. Being part of a team that truly values inclusion and student growth is something I’m proud of."
She also shares the following tips for her peers:

📚Learn the routines quickly — structure and predictability help students feel safe and supported.
🙌Use positive reinforcement — small praise goes a long way in building trust and confidence.
🤝Build connection first — even a smile, a greeting, or a gentle tone can help students feel comfortable.
