Happy Friday! 👋🏾 One of my clients recently asked me if I had it all together and had a perfect life since I was a Life Coach. 👀 I think that’s a common misconception people have: that as Life Coaches, we don’t have problems or challenges. That’s false! I am similar to most people in that I have my fair share of challenges - I face uncertainty, worry, doubt, confusion, sadness, etc. just like everyone else. The difference is, as a Coach, I have the tools and strategies to overcome my obstacles and transition my mindset fairly quickly to see situations for what they really are, and in a more positive light. I’ve also learned how to kick myself into gear if I find myself procrastinating or getting in my own way of achieving my goals.

As we enter a new year, there are things we must leave behind in order to truly make room for the best version of ourselves and everything amazing that life has to offer. I’m wishing you a year of renewal, success and good fortune. However, the best way to ensure that you experience these things in 2023 is to leave behind the below.

1. Leave behind worry and regret and focus on living in the present. Worry and regret live in the future and the past, and cause unnecessary stress, since you can’t predict, nor should you dwell on what may or may not happen. And while you can’t change the past, you can work to make different choices going forward. Focus on what's right in front of you and enjoy the NOW.

2. Leave behind grudges you have for people who have wronged you. 2023 is the year to forgive them, release the hurt they’ve caused you, and go into this year with a fresh outlook and a softened heart. You'll feel lighter and overall happier.

3. Leave the need to please others behind. Be okay with saying NO in the new year. If there are situations that don't serve you, or things you simply prefer not to do for whatever reason, there's nothing wrong with advocating for yourself and choosing not to do them.

4. In 2023, leave the need to complain behind. This may sound harsh, but we're a society that loves to complain about things more than we compliment them. For instance, if we get bad service at a restaurant, we're likely to complain either to a manager or post on social media. But if the service was good, it's less likely that we'll brag to a manager about the great service we received. Let this year be the year you show gratitude and focus on the things you're truly grateful for each day.

We’re in the final months of 2022. In fact, there are only 7 weeks left of this year. I bet there’s something you’ve been wanting to do all year, maybe even for a few years now, but for whatever reason, you just haven’t executed on it. Is it due to fear of failure? Maybe you doubt yourself and whether or not you’ll be successful. Could simple procrastination be at fault?

If you’re waiting for “the perfect time” to start working towards your goals, understand that no time will be “perfect.” But, the “right” time is NOW. Life is fleeting. It’s flying by, and it seems the older we get, the quicker the years go by. So, stop putting off what you want to do, create some urgency as tomorrow is not promised to us, and take a step towards your goals TODAY.

Stop thinking about the outcome of your efforts before you even get started! Set a goal and create a plan to accomplish it. Then, just get started with small steps until you achieve your goal. Try not to get overwhelmed with the big-picture, just set small milestones for yourself and celebrate the journey as you accomplish each step.

🚨Freedom Friday!! 🚨

Happy Friday everyone! In my experience, everyone has things they need to let go of. Oftentimes, we tend to hold on to our past, hold grudges against people who have wronged us, or maybe we can’t seem to eliminate limiting beliefs that are preventing us from reaching our full potential. Whatever the case may be, it’s time to release and become free of those things/that negativity that’s been weighing you down.

Today, I want you to practice becoming free of your “fear of the unknown”. With the state of the world today - like the current war taking place between Ukraine and Russia, being in the midst of inflation, gun violence at an all time high, etc. - it’s natural to be scared and worried about not knowing what the future holds. However, try to release that fear, as these are things that are beyond your control, and instead replace that fear with being mindful and strategic about things within your control. For instance, with regard to inflation, figure out what YOU can do to combat it. Try setting and sticking to a budget while prioritizing your needs. Things that are a luxury, and not a necessity, can be cut back so you have more money for the things you truly need.

Also, while you can’t control the increase in violence taking place lately, consider creating a plan for your family so you’re at least more prepared if you’re ever in danger.

The bottom line is, while fear of the unknown is understandable, it does nothing but cause you anxiety and stress when you’re unable to control the outcome anyway. Focus on what you can control, and what difference you can make in your portion of the world, and free yourself of the rest. Be cautious, but don’t let fear prevent you from living your life.

Hey there! I see that you have a really great business idea, so why haven’t you started it? I heard you have amazing gifts and talents, so why aren’t you using them to do something you love? I heard you’re considering transitioning careers, so why haven’t you pursued it?

I’ll tell you why. Because you continue to doubt yourself. You doubt that you’re as amazing as you really are, or that you’ll actually succeed at the things you attempt. You’re afraid to take the risk or leap of faith because you think you’ll fail.

Listen, DO NOT let self-doubt stop you from achieving your goals. You are more than capable, extremely intelligent and talented enough to do anything you want to do. And guess what, you’re strong enough to pick yourself back up and try it again if things don’t go exactly as you plan. When you start to doubt yourself, remember that every super successful person has failed at whatever their craft is, numerous times, but they believed in themselves enough to keep going. Today, these same people are the wealthiest CEOs, biggest celebrities, and most influential figures in the world. So, I encourage you to be confident in yourself and your abilities, eliminate your self-doubt and go after your dreams!
