Life Cycle of a butterfly Activity:

It’s always very fun to use lots of reference materials to learn a science concept . This week kids enjoyed learning about butterfly life cycle along with their food art presentation on making their bread butterfly.

Today kids enjoyed learning about healthy eating plate. They learned about balanced diets and it’s importance to stay healthy & grow stronger. They also learned that each food has its unique mix of nutrients. Healthy eating habits will definitely help to prevent many chronic diseases.

The Montessori Addition Strip Board is used to introduce the mathematical concept of adding numbers from one to nine. It prepares the preschoolers and kindergartners for abstract mathematics by giving concrete experience in adding the numbers which in turn leads them to the learning of addition tables.

The short vowel sounds help the child to blend those closed sounds (consonants) together to make words. Usually the beginner readers learn to make CVC pattern words that gives them confidence to read and spell simple words.

Science Experiment: Sink or Float

Sink or float experiment is a simple way to teach young kids about the concept of density and buoyancy. Objects that has more density than water will sink, and the objects that has less density than water will float. Most young scientists guess that items will sink or float based on their size or weight.

Our Little Bloomers had great fun in predicting the objects to sink or float.

February month is a very special month to study about our African American heroes. It is also called as black history month.

This is really a important topic that children should be taught about this from their young age which indirectly prepares them to treat everyone equally without any discriminations and also it helps to end racism.

Our Little Bloomers learned about few of our African American heroes and they enjoyed making a booklet.

The Montessori double sandpaper letters are used to introduce phonograms to children. There are 16 single phonograms which helps to understand the mechanics of reading .

February is a not only a special month for celebrating Valentine’s Day but also to remember and recognize the contributions of our African American leaders . Hence this month is also called as “Black History Month”.

This week our children learned about “Unity in diversity “. Children understood that each individual is unique, and we should always respect any individual differences.

For a better understanding we did an activity with two different colored eggs which not only taught them diversity in skin,race,color or ethnicity but also to include individual’s disabilities.

CVC words mean consonant-vowel-consonant words. Example: cat / ten / bug.These words can be read by simply blending their individual phonic sounds together. This CVC words helps the children to understand the concept that words have beginning, middle and ending sound that together create a word. While introducing CVC words children will feel the magic of phonic sounds turning into words when they are blended together.
