🌿✨ This Week’s Montessori Lesson ✨🌿

This week, our little learners explored the Vertical Stacking Cubes! 🧱❤️ This Montessori material gives infants the opportunity to practice carefully placing each cube on top of another while developing coordination of movement, concentration, visual discrimination, balance, and spatial awareness.

As the children worked with the cubes, they practiced using their hands with control and precision while discovering how the pieces fit together and balance. This simple yet purposeful activity encourages independence, problem-solving, and confidence as children learn through hands-on exploration. 🌱✨

🍎🎨 Our Smart Apple Handprint Craft 🎨🍎

We also brought crafts back this week, and our little artists absolutely loved it! 🥰 They created their very own “Smart Apple” handprint crafts, using their little hands to make a special piece of artwork.

While creative crafts are not traditional Montessori materials, this experience provided opportunities for independence, concentration, coordination of movement, creativity, and self-expression. The children were able to participate in each step and take pride in creating something uniquely their own. ❤️

Friendswood ISD is closely monitoring the weather and any potential impacts to our area. At this time, school will be in session as scheduled this week.

🎉🌿 Celebrating Maria Montessori! 🌿🎉

Today at Riverstone Montessori School, we had the wonderful opportunity to celebrate the birthday of the remarkable woman who inspired the Montessori movement-Dr. Maria Montessori! 💐📚✨

Our celebration was filled with joy, learning, and appreciation for the incredible legacy she left behind. 💛 From her belief in the potential of every child to her emphasis on independence, curiosity, respect, and hands-on learning, Maria Montessori transformed the way we understand and educate children. 🌎🧒👧

We are so grateful to carry her philosophy into our classrooms each day, creating prepared environments where children can explore, discover, make choices, build confidence, and develop a lifelong love of learning. 🌱🧠💫

A special thank you to our amazing teachers and staff for making this celebration so meaningful and engaging for our students! ❤️ Your dedication to the children and to the Montessori method is what makes our community so special.

🌟 Curriculum Night at Riverstone Montessori School was a wonderful success!🌟

What an incredible turnout! 💙 We are so grateful to all of the families who took the time to join us, connect with our teachers, and learn more about the meaningful work happening in our classrooms. 📚✨

A very special thank you to our amazing Lead Teachers for the time, preparation, and dedication they put into making Curriculum Night so informative and engaging. Your passion for Montessori education truly shines through! 🍎🌿

One of the most important parts of a child’s education is creating a strong partnership between school and home. 🤝❤️ When parents understand what their children are learning and, just as importantly, how they are learning it, they can find simple ways to extend those experiences at home.

In Montessori, learning doesn’t stop when a child leaves the classroom. 🌎✨ Whether it’s encouraging independence by allowing your child to get dressed on their own, inviting them to help prepare a meal, practicing grace and courtesy, exploring nature, or simply giving them time to work through a challenge independently—the little moments at home can make a big difference.🥣👕🌱

🩺👓 Learning Through Practical Life! 👓🩺

Our Toddler Two students had so much fun exploring a Doctor Kit Practical Life lesson! 💙

Through hands-on, imaginative play, our little learners had the opportunity to explore a stethoscope, glasses, and other doctor materials while becoming familiar with what they may see during a visit to the doctor. 🩺👩‍⚕️👨‍⚕️

These experiences help children build confidence, independence, vocabulary, and comfort with everyday experiences that can sometimes feel unfamiliar or intimidating. 🌟

From listening to a heartbeat ❤️ to pretending to care for a patient 🧸, our toddlers were learning through play while developing important practical life skills!

At Riverstone Montessori, we believe that play is purposeful, hands-on learning is powerful, and confidence grows through experience. 🌱✨

🌊🐠 Diving Deep into Ocean Exploration! 🐙💙

Our students became junior ocean scientists as they explored the Layers of the Ocean through a fun, hands-on science activity! 🌎🔬

Each child created their very own Ocean Layers Jar, carefully adding different liquids to represent the five unique ocean zones:

🌑 Trenches– Corn syrup
🌊 Abyss Zone– Blue dish soap
💙 Midnight Zone– Water with blue food coloring
✨ Twilight Zone– Vegetable oil
☀️ Sunlight Zone– Rubbing alcohol with blue food coloring

The children loved watching the colorful layers separate as they discovered how each part of the ocean is different. 🌊🪼 This engaging activity combined science, sensory exploration, and creativity while teaching about the amazing world beneath the sea! 🐋🐠

✨🌀 Summer Camp Fun at the Museum of Illusions! 🌀✨

Our Riverstone Montessori summer campers had an AMAZING time on our field trip to the Museum of Illusions! 🤩🎨🔍

From mind-bending optical illusions to unbelievable exhibits, our students had so much fun exploring, learning, and seeing the world from a whole new perspective! 🧠👀✨

There were plenty of laughs, surprises, and *“Wait… how did that happen?!”* moments! 😂🙌

We love creating exciting experiences that encourage curiosity, creativity, and learning beyond the classroom! 💙🌟

What an unforgettable summer camp adventure! 🚌☀️🎉

👃✨ Sniff, Smell, Explore! 🌿🍯

Our little learners had an amazing time exploring one of their five senses—the sense of smell! 💚

Using sensory jars filled with cinnamon 🤎, honey 🍯, and oregano 🌿, the children carefully smelled each scent, compared the different aromas, and shared what they noticed. It was incredible to watch their curiosity come to life as they discovered how each smell was unique!

Of course, there were plenty of giggles along the way! 😂 Some friends were convinced the yummy smells meant it was snack time and wanted to taste the ingredients, while others couldn't wait to investigate the jars even more! 🤣🔍

At Riverstone Montessori, hands-on sensory experiences help children build observation skills, expand their vocabulary, and encourage curiosity about the world around them. 🌎💛 Learning is always an adventure when all five senses are involved!
