Yesterday’s Mission Moment celebrated Blooms & Bites, a Legacy Grant bringing culinary arts and floral design together to create meaningful, hands-on learning experiences for FISD students! 🌸🍴

Envisioned by our culinary and floral design teachers, this collaborative grant gives students opportunities to design floral arrangements, prepare catered events, make deliveries, and interact with customers—all while building real-world skills that extend beyond the classroom.

We were especially grateful to have the Blooms & Bites vehicle join us at FEF’s Sporting Clays Tournament! Our FHS Culinary Arts students served their famous Mustang Sammies, and Floral Design students created beautiful arrangements that helped bring the event to life. Thank you to Mrs. Novak and Mrs. Sawyer for your vision, dedication, and commitment to creating these incredible opportunities for students!

Through Blooms & Bites, students are cultivating creativity, building career-ready skills, and discovering new ways to turn their passions into possibilities!

We’re so grateful to share some wonderful news from Westwood Elementary!

Thanks to the incredible generosity of two anonymous donors, Westwood’s immediate needs have been funded, including replenishing the Sensory Room and replacing library books lost due to the damage.

And because we know the desire to help doesn’t stop here, we’ve opened the Westwood Grant Treasure Chest early for anyone who would like to continue supporting Westwood students and teachers. Gifts will help provide instructional tools and resources both now as needed and through future Adopt-A-Grant opportunities.

What an incredible day of competition, community, and giving!🧡

The results are in, and the 2026 FEF Sporting Clays Tournament hit the mark in a big way! With a record-breaking 77 teams, more than $145,000 netted, and the return of our Ladies Night Shoot & Sip for its second year, this year’s tournament was one to remember. From the competition on the course to the incredible generosity of our sponsors, teams, and supporters, we’re so grateful to everyone who helped make the day such a success.

A special thank-you to our Title Sponsors, R-C Ranch, Shady Grove Fertility Houston, and Traylor Mechanical, for helping make this event possible and for supporting the Friendswood ISD Education Foundation’s mission to enhance learning opportunities for FISD students and teachers.

Our newest FISD classroom teachers are getting ready to fill their carts at Mustang Market, where each teacher will receive $250 to shop for classroom essentials, supplies, and special touches to make their new classrooms feel like home. They’ll enjoy the shopping experience alongside fellow new teachers at Target on October 20!

The ladies took over the course last week! Our 2nd Annual Ladies Night “Shoot & Sip" brought together members of our Ladies Division for an evening of fun, fellowship, and getting ready for the big day!

A great day exploring FISD!

Our newest FEF Director, Chelsea Chase, and newest staff member, Katie Fort, hit the road for a New Director Field Trip, visiting Westwood, Bales, the Transition Center, and the FISD Therapeutic Education Center!

It was truly amazing to see firsthand the impact these campuses and programs have across Friendswood ISD and to learn so much from the incredible educators and students we met along the way. From seeing innovative grants in action to learning more about the unique opportunities happening throughout the district, we left with an even greater appreciation for the work happening in our schools every day.

A huge thank you to Mr. Roher for putting together this field trip and giving us such a great example of a grant in action! We loved seeing the Transition Center’s new SOAR Safely Grant, funded by FEF, come to life and learning more about the impact it will have.

We’re so excited to have Chelsea and Katie on the FEF team and can’t wait to keep learning, connecting, and supporting FISD! 🐴💙
