On Friday, September 11, 2026, our Friendsville Eagles will take time to remember September 11, 2001, and honor the lives impacted by that day.

Our teachers will use age-appropriate lessons and activities in their classrooms to help students learn about the significance of 9/11 in a thoughtful and meaningful way.

We encourage all students and staff to wear red, white, and blue as we remember, reflect, and honor the spirit of unity, courage, and resilience that followed.

💙 Our Eagles’ Nest is overflowing with gratitude! 🦅

A huge THANK YOU to First United Bank and Trust - Friendsville Branch, Deep Creek Lions Club, the Town of Friendsville, and every individual in our community who has donated food, hygiene products, cleaning supplies, and other essential items to our Eagles’ Nest Pantry.

Your generosity helps ensure our students and families have access to what they need, and we are incredibly grateful for the care and compassion you continue to show our school community.

📚 Grade-Level Parent Nights Are Coming! 🦅

We’re excited to invite our Friendsville Eagles families to join us for Grade-Level Parent Nights during the first two weeks of school!

These evenings are a wonderful opportunity to meet your child’s teacher, learn about classroom routines and expectations, curriculum and learning goals, and discover ways you can support your child’s learning at home throughout the school year. Building a strong home-school partnership starts with staying connected! ❤️

🦅 Morning Drop-Off Update 🚗

We’re excited to welcome our Eagles back on Monday! Please take a few minutes to watch this video so you know exactly how our new morning drop-off location and traffic pattern will work.

🚗 Enter through the lower parking lot entrance.
🦅 Drop off your student at the cafeteria doors.
➡️ Exit by driving past the lobby doors and following the loop to turn onto First Avenue using the top of the loop.

Please watch the video for the DOs and DON’Ts of our new drop-off procedure. Following the traffic pattern will help us keep everyone moving safely and efficiently each morning.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation as we get this new routine up and running! We appreciate our families helping us make morning arrival safe, organized, and smooth for everyone. 💙🦅

Back to School Night Extravaganza 🎉🦅

What a wonderful evening at Friendsville Elementary! It was so exciting to see our students and families back at the building, smiling, connecting, and sharing in the excitement for the school year ahead. We are SOARing into a new year together, and we couldn't ask for a better start! 💙

A huge THANK YOU to our amazing community partners who helped make tonight such a success: Friendsville Elementary Judy Center Early Learning Hub, Friendsville PTO, Garrett County Health Department Health Education and Outreach, Tony M. Music, JTF, and Kona Ice! We are incredibly grateful for your continued support of our students and families.

Couldn't make it tonight? No worries! Stop by the school Thursday or Friday between 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM to pick up your paperwork and important information and drop off school supplies. Otherwise, we'll see you Monday morning! 🦅📚✏️

Today, our students hit the streets of Friendsville to explore local businesses and discover what it takes to be an entrepreneur! They learned about running a small business, serving the community, and how hobbies and interests can become exciting and rewarding careers.

🌲🚛🩺 When I Grow Up Camp: Exploring Careers in Our Community! 🦅

Our When I Grow Up campers have been having an amazing time discovering the many career opportunities right here in our community!

A huge THANK YOU to Andy Schmidt with Generation III Logging, Melissa Nash, Noah Jack, and Ted Hoxie with the Maryland Forest Service for joining us and teaching our students about trucking, logging, forest management, and conservation. The kids loved learning about the important work that goes into caring for our forests and natural resources—and they were especially excited to meet Smokey Bear! 🐻🌳

We also want to give a special shout-out to Keriann Ross for sharing her career as a sonographer! Our students were absolutely astonished to see hearts, kidneys, livers, and other organs through ultrasound. What an incredible, hands-on way to bring a career to life! ❤️🩺

We are so grateful to all of our community partners for sharing their time, knowledge, and experiences with our Eagles and helping them imagine all the possibilities for their futures!

🚒 When I Grow Up Summer Camp: Exploring a Career as a Firefighter! 🚒

Our When I Grow Up campers had an exciting start to their Monday morning as they learned all about the important work of firefighters! 🔥👩‍🚒👨‍🚒

A huge THANK YOU to Camp Dawson firefighters Devin Cale and Chris Cabrera for spending their morning with our students. They shared what it takes to be a firefighter, talked about the skills and responsibilities of the job, and gave our students an up-close look at this incredible career.

We are so grateful for community members who take the time to inspire our Eagles and help them discover the many possibilities for their future! ❤️🦅

Who knows? We may have some future firefighters in the Friendsville Eagles family! 🚒✨
