Building Stronger Readers Through Morphology!

Mrs. Freeman’s 4th and 5th grade reading groups are becoming “word detectives” as they learn how prefixes, suffixes, and root words can unlock the meaning of unfamiliar words.

These strategies help students build vocabulary, improve comprehension, and become more confident, independent readers.

We’re so proud of their growth as they build their vocabulary toolkit—one word part at a time!

Our First Spirit Assembly!

We kicked off the year with an amazing display of school spirit and pride! Students and staff proudly sang our school song, and each grade level showed off their class banner and chant.

A special highlight was Ms. Betsa’s video, celebrating students who demonstrated our character trait of the month: RESPECT. It was wonderful to see so many students recognized for showing kindness and consideration toward others.

Congratulations to Madyson Conklin, our first Eagle Wing Winner, for displaying outstanding character and being a positive example to others!

What a great way to start the year! Let’s keep our Eagle spirit soaring!

Meet the “Love Stylish Pickles” Reading Team!

Mrs. Weaver’s 4th grade reading team recently chose a name that is as fun and unique as they are..."Love Stylish Pickles! "

In the Reading Lab, our goal is simple: help students love learning while becoming stronger, more confident readers. Students are learning how to interact with a story in meaningful ways while improving their accuracy, fluency, and comprehension.

Before opening a book, our readers become story detectives! They make predictions by examining the cover, title, and synopsis, thinking about what the story might be about and what they might discover.

Then it’s time to get engaged! Students head to the Reading Corner, where they actively read, think, make connections, and interact with the story. They are learning that reading isn’t just about saying the words, it’s about understanding, questioning, imagining, and enjoying the journey!

We are so proud of the enthusiasm, teamwork, and growth of our Love Stylish Pickles!

Your hard work, determination, and passion for the game have been an inspiration to teammates, coaches, and fans alike.
