It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of long time Animal Science Professor, Dr. Scott Williamson. Doc, as he was affectionately known as, started at Fresno State in the early 1980s. A native of Indiana, he made the long trek west to join the faculty at Fresno State and take lead of the swine unit after completing his PhD at the University of Illinois. For over 40 years, he was the guiding light for the swine unit. He served as department chair, meat animal evaluation coach, and swine show team advisor for several years. Besides his beloved hogs, he was an avid breeder of Dutch rabbits. In fact, Dr. Jacobs and him both had a love of rabbits.
We are deeply saddened for his loss and know that he will be missed by many. Once celebration of life arrangements are made it will be shared. Please keep Docβs family in your thoughts and prayers.
