Our Lions wowed the judges with their hard work and creativity, earning some well-deserved awards! Congratulations to all of our participants and winners, we are so proud of you!
From classroom to kitchen, students put science into practice by making healthier pancakes while learning about portion control and recipe scaling.
They used whole wheat flour instead of refined flour, honey instead of processed sugar, and Greek yogurt for added protein.
With guidance from Mr. Warren, students mixed, measured, and cooked their creations, discovering that learning about health can also be delicious.
Stay tuned as our students dive into how everyday food choices affect blood sugar balance and long-term health.
In this lesson, they explored:
โข Glucose as the bodyโs main energy source
โข The roles of insulin and glucagon in maintaining balance
โข Why large sugar spikes can lead to insulin resistance and Type 2 diabetes
โข Practical strategies before, during, and after meals to help regulate blood sugar
Next up, students will participate in an interactive game modeling how insulin works inside the body.

โจ Carden After School Classes โ Fall 2025 โจ
We are thrilled to announce our new After School enrichment programs starting this semester! ๐ These classes give students the chance to grow, learn, and explore new skills outside of the traditional classroom.
๐ Available Classes:
๐ป Coding & Programming โ Taught by Mr. Bailey
๐ Spanish Language & Culture โ Taught by Mr. Karamanlian
๐ถ Choir โ Taught by Mr. Cobb
๐ Each class is offered separately for Grades 1โ3 and Grades 4โ8 on different days of the week.
๐ค Our Choir students will also have the opportunity to perform at school events, the Harvest Carnival, and even at assisted living centers throughout the year!
