Years ago, a friend of mine invited me to attend a a conference on bible study. In between speakers, there were workshops put on to address different topics. I attended two workshops: One was called "Finding God's Purpose for Your Life" and the other was called "Scripture Memorization." The workshop on God's purpose was standing room only and the workshop for scripture memorization had so many em
pty seats, every person in the room could lie down on five or six seats around them. At the end of the day, I mentioned this to my friend who invited me. He said it's always the case. Everyone want's to know God's purpose but aren't interested in studying scripture in order to learn what God's purpose is for their lives. I set a goal then to memorize all of the Psalms and Proverbs within five years with the intent of memorizing the entire Bible within ten years. That was 25 years ago and I accomplished neither of those goals! The reason I say this is because I'm like many people who are procrastinating, unorganized and undisciplined, yet mean well. It's not the worst thing to be, but most of us fall into that category. Through my ups and downs, I have learned much about the Bible and best of all, I have learned many scriptures that are key to growth. It's not as boring as it sounds. Memorizing can actually be fun, and it's always great to see the reactions of people when you recall information because they think it takes a special talent to be able to do so. I'm living proof that it doesn't take anything special at all. My purpose is to let people know that if I can do it, anyone can! There are two dates that are important to a person. The date they're born and the date that they realize what the purpose is in life. One of my purposes is to help others. So, again, I welcome you to my page to help you find your purpose.
