New article up - Good Manga for High School Libraries! I’ve put together a list of starter manga to purchase for your collections.
This list has been a long time coming and one I’ve spent years reading, reviewing, and curating. I know there are titles missing 😅 because you can never have them all! But I hope this is a help for all my high school compatriots doing their best out there.

📚❤️ We love seeing communities come together to keep books in readers' hands.
We applaud the independent bookstores and organizations working to make banned books accessible because we believe everyone deserves the freedom to read, discover new ideas, and decide for themselves what stories to explore. 👏
Books open minds. Libraries build communities. Let's keep reading. 💙
✨ What's one book everyone should read at least once? Tell us in the comments!

One of my favorite months!
🎨 Walk into almost any school library, and you’ll find the graphic novel section buzzing with energy. Why? Because graphic novels foster community.
From reluctant readers finding their perfect match to students bonding over shared favorite series, these formats create an inclusive space where reading is highly visible, social, and celebrated. School librarians intentionally build these collections to ensure every student can find a story that reflects their world or opens a window to someone else's.
Happy Graphic Novels in Libraries Month! Let's give a shout-out to the vibrant library hubs making reading accessible for all.

Spendin’ Time warms the soul. I loved the journey readers are take on in this beautiful book about a boy and his grandfather going on an errand running adventure in town. 💜

Save the Date! 🌉📚
Mark your calendars for January 28–31, 2027 and join us in San Francisco for the CSLA Conference!
Our 2027 theme, “Building Bridges,” celebrates the powerful ways librarians and libraries connect people, ideas, and communities. Just like San Francisco’s iconic bridges span across water to bring people together, school libraries create pathways —linking curiosity with knowledge, students with stories, and communities with opportunity.
Let’s come together to strengthen the connections that inspire learning and transform lives.
✨ Save the date and stay tuned for more details!
