🌊 “Nothing is more powerful than an idea whose time has come.” — Victor Hugo
This past weekend’s retreat reminds us that mindfulness in education is no longer just a vision — its time has come. Together, we are cultivating focus, resilience, and compassion in ways that will ripple through our classrooms and our community.
Grateful for the leadership of our students, the support of Sunnyside High School, our community partner Integral Community Solutions Institute, and the California Department of Natural Resources Community Youth Access Grant. Thank you for believing in the power of mindfulness and education.

Join us Saturday, February 12 for an online daylong with Vinny Ferraro.
Through the cultivation of mindfulness, this daylong will focus on connecting with our intrinsic awareness, and what lies beyond the dimension of thought. We’ll rest in the center of conditions and make it a holiday for the heart. Together, we’ll hold what needs to be held and recognize what’s already gone.
Practices will include guided sits, walking, Q&A and a dharma talk. Please join us for this day of sustained practice.

Our Mindfulness Club had its 4th online Zoom Meeting. Today’s mindfulness body scan meditation was led by our president, Kendren Carter, which hosted 22 participants. Mindfulness Club has now gone virtual. Some good news in challenging times! James Alvarado
