What does an ASI Vice President of External Affairs do?
The Vice President of External Affairs is the acting liaison on all matters externally affecting ASI. This may include, but is not limited to, working with alumni, community members, governments, and acting as the primary California State Student Association, (CSSA) representative for California State University, Fresno. The Vice President of External Affairs shall chair the ASI External Affairs Committee, and will have normal voting privileges congruent with other ASI committee chairs. The Vice President of External Affairs shall provide updates to the Student Senate on CSSA events at the senate meeting directly following the date of the plenary. They will be the primary party responsible for attending the CSSA meetings and represent ASI in all capacities related to CSSA or the CSU system at-large, in partnership with the ASI president, among other duties as assigned by the ASI Executive Committee, or ASI Senate.

What does an ASI Vice President of Finance do?
The Vice President of Finance serves as ASI’s chief financial officer and prepares the organization’s annual budget, facilitates the distribution of club grants, assists in managing club and campus organization financial accounts, while advising the ASI president, student senate, and staff of the organization’s financial affairs. The vice president of finance is the primary signatory on all financial documents, and serves as the chair of the ASI Finance Committee and is a voting member of the ASI executive committee. The vice president of finance is also responsible for ensuring all ASI fiscal Bylaws, Policies, university guidelines are followed.

What does an ASI Executive Vice President do?
The Executive Vice President serves as the chair for the Associated Students, Inc. (ASI) Student Senate and is responsible for administering general operations and procedures pertaining to the ASI Senate and Committees. The EVP is selected from one of eleven (11) at-large senators who may vote only when necessary to break a tie-vote. In the event the ASI President is unable to perform their duties, the executive vice president will act as interim president and have all powers of and subject to all restrictions of the office of ASI president.

What does an ASI President do?
They have the duty and responsibility of serving as chief executive officer of the organization and overseeing the corporations’ activities and affairs. The president acts as the primary representative of the organization within the campus community and at the state, local, and sometimes national level on all matters related to ASI. The president is also responsible for working in collaboration with the ASI director of operations and staff to forward the mission of ASI, ensure ASI follows ASI Bylaws, Policies, university rules and regulations, provide services to students, and represents the student voice within the campus community and beyond.

IRA applications are now open! Apply NOW!

What is IRA? IRA stands for Instructionally Related Activities. It is funds used to support students to attend conferences, presentations, and other academic activities.

Open: NOW! Sept 4th.
Closes: October 2nd. 5 PM.*

Please ensure to review all guideline and rubric information before applying. The IRA funds that are awarded during this application cycle are to be used in Spring of 2027. The Late IRA will be opening in the Spring semester for Fall 2027 academic activities.
