PROVOST’S AWARD: EXCELLENCE IN TEACHING.
Fresno State humanics professor Dr. Matthew Jendian (1991) has been selected for Fresno State’s 2026 Provost’s Award for Excellence in Teaching. The founding director of the nationally recognized Humanics Program, he has published widely, and earned multiple honors, including the 2012 President’s Award of Excellence. Jendian’s work has positively impacted thousands of students and communities. This fall, he becomes the director of the Jan and Bud Richter Center for Community Engagement and Service Learning. Congratulations! 🎓🏆🐾

Joshua Aaron Asparin (2024), is currently studying for a Master’s degree in perfume and cosmetic formulation, plus a Master of Business Management at Institut supérieur international du parfum, de la cosmétique et de l'aromatique alimentaire (ISIPCA). Based in Paris, France, ISIPCA is the world’s leading school in the fields of fragrance, cosmetics and flavor. He was a member of the Smittcamp Family Honors College, and the recipient of the 2023-24 Bulldog Pride Fund: General Award of $3,000. 🎓🇫🇷🐾

She is a first-generation student majoring in sociology with a minor in philanthropic and community-based leadership. Gena Chambers (2024), a mezzo soprano, takes the stage with the Fresno Master Chorale’s production of Handel’s “Israel in Egypt.” Gena was a two-time Bulldog Pride Fund scholar -- in 2022-23 she was awarded $2,000, and in 2023-24 she was awarded $3,000, Congratulations. 🎓🎼🐾
