The Fresno State Mathematics and Science Teacher Initiative (MSTI) is hosting their teacher institute this summer!!!
This event is dedicated to centering Indigenous and Black understandings of land and nature in teaching science in elementary classrooms. The aim of this workshop is to equip teachers with an understanding of the pressing issues of climate change, drastic weather patterns, redlining, and human impacts on the environment that disproportionately affect communities of color.
The workshop is a 4-day event. Teachers from Fresno Unified, WEB DuBois and Golden Charter academy are already registered! Spots are limited!
